Hopefully, they'll both be available, as well as, all the other porterweeds for the 2021 season.

I would like to have one, to me they are so exotic looking. I'm looking for more hummingbird plants. I don't know where the hummers are this year. My friends have them; I don't. I've only seen one lone female this year. I usually have 5 to 10 birds, and they are established by this time.

I received my diane salvia. I will definitely buy from colonial creek again. The plant had a small root ball, but had four seven inch long stems with leaves on it.

That's a good recommendation. Definitely ordering from them next year. Thumbs up Look into Select Seeds. I've been just really pleased with their plants. Yes, small root balls, but the plants have grown amazingly fast, and one even arrived blooming! That's the black eye Susan vine in the pic below. The nicotiana I got from them is huge and will bloom soon. I ordered three salvias from them and one is blooming, the other two are developing flower stalks.

gardenfish said:Here's my Mystic Spires! Found it at Atwood's. I have an Amante coming in from Select Seeds.

You can see my Hot Lips in the left of the pic.
The lighter green one in front of the Hot lips is a native blue salvia.

If this plant cant over winter in your zone you can make cuttings. I actually rooted a cutting from just water.

Within the past week while shopping at Kroger's, I got a third (for this year) pot of agastache 'Kudos Gold', a pot that had red and white (no id's) pentas and a pot that had three coleus: ColorBlaze Lime Time, ColorBlaze Sedona Sunset and ColorBlaze Wicked Witch.

Hurray! Krogers really has some nice plants, I've bought their plants for years. I do tell folks if they have a Kroger store to check it out. I've never seen agastaches or pentas at mine, I did pick up a very nice echinacea recently, and they have a coreopsis I'm going to get. They did have some very nice speedwell, but I waited too late and they sold out.

My Durham Porter weed comes in the next two days. So far I have no complaints. Appears to be arriving on time.

I was at ace. The person working there showed me a plant labeled peach porterweed. I was suspect because one flower she showed me looked like a faded pink porterweed. Anyone heard of a peach coral porterweed? I received my plant. It is nice. A stem with two fifteen inch branches coming out. Also has flower stalks.

So far the durham is slightly disappointing. I know it had smaller flowers than the coral. Their color isnt as bright as i would have liked. I wanted something that could be seen 10 feet away. Perhaps once its a larger plant with multiple blooms i will like it more.

So the first bug ive seen on durham is a skipper. I have a pink porterweed and my fuschia porterweed cutting on the verge of growing roots in water. I am excited if the fuschia roots so easy. My local ace had an indigo spires plant ive been watching. Might get it tomorrow.

I just love the skippers! I have several kinds here. My zinnias and marigolds are getting ready to bloom, I'll see more skippers when they do. I'm in the process of whacking down my hot lips salvia, by this time in the summer it had really slowed down blooming, and is so tall it shades other plants. I cut if back by at least half. That renews it, keeps it bushy and it starts blooming well again. If I found an indigo spires I would certainly buy it. I've not seen any salvias for sale lately.

Our Ace doesn't carry anything special in the way of plants, just usual 'run of the mill'.

Wished I'd gotten the container of established zinnias they had at Krogers weeks ago. Plants went fast at Kroger's and they didn't replace things. It was a cooler spring and I wasn't thinking about getting plants, so I missed out on a lot of plants they had.

I really love the skippers also. I look forward to seeing them every year.

I usually grow zinnias from seed, but I planted mine late, and they are just beginning to bloom. I wanted some awhile back, so I found and bought these at Wal Mart.I love the two tome colors.Im saving seed from this one, hope it comes out true.

I purchased my 10 dollar monster indigo spires. It is somewhat more wide and floppy. I plan on putting it in a 4.5 gallon square nursery pot to see how it grows.

I didn't pot it yet so it was in a small pot and I watered it after two hours in the sun the plant was going splat.

My monster indigo spires is in a square pot now. My fuschia Porter weed cutting rooted and is now in a pot. It rooted in about a week. I now have indigo spires cutting in water and a broken Wendy wish branch. First blooms on Diane salvia aren't too impressive. It's hot pink but I'm not seeing the purple in the bloom. It was labeled Diane salvia on the pot. I'm hoping the purple shows. Hope I was not sent the wrong plant on my first order.

The indigo spires plant I have seems to have some issue with the sun. I potted it in a 4.5 gallon square garden pot. The plant is about four feet wide due to a few floppy branches and part of the stems are two feet tall. I soaked it in the morning around 10. So I check on it at 1:30 and the dirt looks damp, but the plant was very wilted. It is about 95 today. So I watered it and moved it into the shade. Is indigo spires a water hog? In a few minutes the plant was no longer wilting. Where I bought it the plant was not receiving direct sunlight. It was under a covered area. Is it possible it has to adjust to the sunlight? I will post a pic of the plant when I have fast internet on 7 5.

It may be, Eric. I have it's cousin mystic spires, and it wilted every day after I planted it, and it wasn't that hot back then. I just watered every day for about two weeks until I was sure it was established, which seemed to take forever. It's a lot better now, but does like regular watering.

So I learned Diane develops the purple from the sun. It starts off hot pink and as the day progresses it appears.
