Ooooh, I do love those you listed. If you like lavender, gray and amber you may want to add Enter The Dragon, Dragon Dance and Dance With Dragons to your garden (they are all Blyth dragons, Dragon Kiss being the most recent and smaller one). They compliment each other in the garden.

William, you said, "Jan, wonderful order. For me that likes a bit of color Bottle Rocket is one of the most beautiful irises I have ever had in my garden.
I had to replace mine to see it bloom. Rarely do I replace irises, I just move on to another that might work better, because in reality I have to accept that not all irises will work in my climate, but I'm so glad I tried Bottle Rocket a second time. Now I just hope that it will do as well outside as it did in the greenhouse last winter."

William, there's a reason why BOTTLE ROCKET won the Dykes medal! I love color..and pastels...and, and....
Tom, you're right. We've got the bug! nodding

I did pickup Dragon Dance and will look at the others. I didn't want to burden you all with my whole list but I have a feeling this forum will be dangerous for me *Blush*

SulliO - It's NEVER a burden to see lists of your irises. We also like
pictures!!

Like today, and it's starting to rain . Looking at iris pics brightens my day while waiting for the irises in the garden to bloom.

Seeing Serjio's photo of EDIFICE in the right hand column reminded me of how much I'm attracted to orchid-colored irises.
Here's a few I have:

Aloha Spirit

Bond Girl

and another orchid-color I'd like

Ok, well you experts can help me with suggestions and I want to see if I've figured out this Database photo thing.

I grouped my list in color families, I know that there are more variations but it's easier for me to think about them in smaller groups so I don't go wild in one color too much. I have far too many apricot, peach, coral peonies for example.

Here's what I consider my Amber collection ordered for 2020:

My "gray" grouping ordered for 2020, I realize most are not super gray but it's how I need to think about them. I'm a florist and know how I would design with them if that makes sense.

Finally, plum/purple richer tones. I'm reluctant to add too many more as I have a lot of other flowers in these tones both in perennial and annual but I wouldn't say no to more in the Storm Brewing/Thundery shades...

Welcome! Sulli!

It seems you have some great discipline selecting colors and I'm pretty sure they will look marvelous together.

Loved seeing your selections, SulliO! ...and you're a florist, so you'd be
perhaps thinking of them in a bouquet, rather than in the garden?

I have several of your choices. Another Suggestion is a gorgeous iris.

Oh my Sulli! Your renovation of a large city garden is becoming fabulous isn't it!
Roses? are you going to collect a few of them too? (Sorry, there's just a few that really wanna hang out in your color scheme me thinks)

here's the missing one from the amber group

(it just needed the bracket at the beginning)

and from the pastel group Mountain Laurel

and a link to Mauve Mistress
https://www.suttoniris.com/col...

now I'm off to peruse what else they have... Whistling (but I'm not ordering anything!)

I guess I do think about how I'd arrange them but I cut very little from my garden-it's too much work to grow it all! I just experiment with planting in color compositions like I'd design them. Or last year I did this very rigid color gradient dahlia garden that went from pure white to black/burgundy in 300 plants/80 varieties. I still buy a lot of flowers for my design work but it's nice to run out and cut something special-I do pretty big weddings and it would be impossible to grow enough of what I need.

I'm working out where I'd do a full Iris garden vs. putting these in beds with existing color stories. We're doing about .25 acres of new beds beginning this spring and I'll have a lot of options and will be browsing the forum for inspiration. There's just nothing like these Iris colors, I've worked with several unusual blacks/purples and a few brown iris in the past-either Schreiner's sends cut stems to the NY flower district or there's another grower in Oregon who sells to the market. But it will be fun to have my own though Spring 2021 seems very far away right now!

bring on the rose suggestions please! I actually do have many roses, we had a few already growing on the property that thrived on neglect for the first 5 years we were here and trying to finish the inside of the house.

I've added everything from David Austins to climbers and many shrubs. Everything is pretty much still in infancy but I can picture it all playing nicely together in 3-5 years!

Sulli, I remember when the rose STERLING SILVER was introduced - wouldn't it be beautiful with iris HAUNTED HEART?
Of course, it's been many years for S.S. and here may be even better lavender roses out there. Haunted Heart has been an excellent grower in my garden, but I've heard that results vary.
