Here's what comes up in the database under a search for 'russet'
https://garden.org/plants/grou...

There are several here I would suggest (and pine after myself), if you could find them!
I'm thinking more the beige-tans like Irish Cream, or the super fun Lavender Pinocchio, not so much the brick-browns...although Brownie is pretty awesome, and it didn't show up in the listing
Hmmm, just noticed Distant Drums and the like, which should be easy to find, didn't show up either (because their data isn't entered the same way as the others to get picked up in the search) so who knows how many more are missing???
Ah well, hopefully you get the idea anyway.
And there is a whole rose forum with many who can recommend much better than I.

I will give a shameless nod to one that I do have

who knows what color this thing is?

I would love to grow Bottle Rocket here, but have been told that it grows very poorly in my zone. What have your experiences been with it?

Bottle Rocket certainly seems vigorous enough here. Although the rhizome I got wasn't particularly large, it still managed to both bloom and put out 5 increases in its first year. For my garden and given the smaller rhizome size this is pretty good results. I would have been happy with 2-3 increases,

It was however grown in a pot over winter and then planted in sandy soil that had previously been lawn. It got wood ash, bone meal and slow release fertilizer, so I think it was probably well fed. Also of course because it was greenhouse grown for a while it got a longer season.

To really say that it grows well, I would however need to see if it survives winter as my first rhizome died. All irises need to be tolerant of autumn and winter wet here as the soil rarely dries during September to March, unless we get clear cold weather, which is pretty rare. So this is my only reservation for this iris.

William...What an order! Looking forward to your many beautiful pics.

Sullie: Welcome! I truly enjoyed your list and the way your artist's eye groups the colors. I am not artistic but truly appreciate the gifts those that are, have.

All: It appears I am in the same boat as many others out here. I have said No more than 25 this year, period. So I figure I can pick, say, my top 3 or 4, from all my favorite vendors. Yet, looking at Sutton last night, I had the hardest time dwindling it down to 3 or 4. I think it is around 8 right now. I think I kept pretty close to my goal of 35 last year but boy was it hard work so to knock that down even 10 more this year.. Shrug! What's a girl to do D'Oh! !

I can recommend an iris similar in color to Bottle Rocket is Mango Queen. It has performed well for me.
