Thanks, Karen. I think this is the best start to the season I have ever had. The combination of the greenhouse, the HappyLeaf grow Lights and the ProMix potting soil have combined to get everything off to a good start.

love your pictures, i have attached a couple pics of my greenhouse, Obviously mine is not large enough, but it works well for me, Up here in Northern Ontario i start my seeds indoors and move them to the greenhouse in mid to late April, i have a small space heater that can prevent things from form freezing on those crazy nights and unexpected spring snowstorms and a fan that circulates air when it gets hot. On those Crazy weather periods, I have had the heater going at night and then the fan during day! I purchased this greenhouse second hand about 25 years ago, and love it , it is a glass greenhouse from "jacobs", and i think is 6 feet by 8 and has one automatic window . The best thing I found was those cafeteria trays, they are perfect for watering, My tomatoes fill the place now, and i have a few other things as well, Marigolds, basil, geraniums, I start lettuce, morning glories, and any other seeds that happen along the way. In the heat of summer i keep a few tomatoes and mainly basil there, it loves the dry heat and always have a clean fresh crop on the go,

@tomsud

Greenhouses are never big enough no matter what size they are. Whistling Nice pics. You certainly pack a lot in there. I also love your property. So pretty. I can relate to going from a heater to fans within a few hours of each other. Sometimes, I feel like a baby sitter...always keeping one eye on my "baby".

That photo of the greenhouse lit up at 4am was taken from a second story window in the house. That building to the right is my workshop. Should be even brighter starting tomorrow morning since I hung 2 more Happy Leaf 33" LED Grow Lights today.

MoonShadow, yes i pack alot in there, every single spot is taken advantage of and my morning ritual is moving stuff around, I love the room that you have in your greenhouses
Gardengus, the pic is taken from the back of my garage/shop, the house is further up the hill and my perennial gardens all terrace down to the creek, We have been here for almost 20 years, I recently retired and continually have projects on the go, screened in garden room , pizza oven , barnboard garden shed, always something to do.

That is a really cool photo! I love that. I have floodlights in my greenhouse so technically I could 'garden at night' if I wanted to but I don;t LOL.

They are for gardening at night LOL. But to be honest being in the GH at night kind of freaks me out. We have a lot of wildlife out here and the area just to one side of the GH is all woods. You always here snorting and growling and large things going through the bushes over there. Its kind of scary

They come on at 4am and go off at 8pm, so they get a guaranteed 16 hours of simulated sun light. The sun is only on my greenhouse about 8-9 hours a day. (Plants do need a period of darkness or they will not grow well.) They are also great for cloudy days which we have an abundance of in the Spring.

Hey the Swamp Ape is always prowling around LOL. (Don't laff my 25 year old daughter actually believes in the Swamp Ape). Its pretty scary because its hard to tell if its something big, or something small. It could be anything from an armadillo scuttling through the brush to a 350+ lb wild pig rooting around. And the deer make this weird snort when they get surprised. Our houses are so far apart here we can;t even see our neighbors. Unless one of them is a werewolf I don;t think its them Grin

I have been trying to figure a way to close the bottom of my greenhouse. So to keep out cold and so I will have a way to weedeat up the sides . It is a part of a high tunnel grant so I am required to grow in the ground for a period of time , I wonder if that is do able I am doing it but have future questions on soil born problems . Thank you for any constructive criticism welcome .

It would be a temporary fix but I have seen folks line the perimeter with either straw or hay bales. It adds insulation to help maintain the indoor temps. Most cold enters at ground level. Aesthetically maybe not so attractive or easy to weed eat around. Perhaps others will have better ideas.
