I feel for you, Bob. But probably most people who feel sick won't go to Home Depot. Walgreens or Walmart maybe. But not Home Depot.

Stay healthy. Eat well. Sleep. Take your vitamins and say your prayers.

We have plenty of beer and wine for a week or more. We're good. Angel Hilarious!

If you can't find hand sanitizers & can't make them either then you can use paper towels - I use the select a size ones - even cut those in 1/2 & fold them, place into a small ziplock or a rubbermaid container with a good lid & then pour in enough ordinary rubbing alcohol to moisten the paper towels. Hand sanitizer folks! It doesn't have to be complicated.

Rubbing alcohol is no where to be seen just like the sanitizer. Karen cleaning supplies are very big at my store, I am always shocked at how much we sell even before this.

I barely got any alchohol a month ago. Found some on amazon and even then could only order two. Have them and two bottles of aloe vera in 'wait'. I saw someone on gainesville yard sale trying to sell a bottle of cvs hand sanititzer for 50 bucks yesterday. Grumbling

Shelves are empty. Literally wiped clean of meat, bread. Eggs. Canned goods and of course cleaning supplies and paper goods. The most popular store in Houston , HEB has limited their hours from 8-8 so they have time to restock. People lined up.outside this morning an hour before it opened. Parking lots were full. Idk? That's not "avoiding crowds" is it?

We prepped over 2 weeks ago in Feb when stock was plentiful. They laughed and told us we were panicking. Who's panicking now? I've been in my garden all week while people are driving from store to store looking for toilet paper. I'm almost out of fresh veggies. I bought cabbages because they store so well. I'll restock later next week. I bought frozen veggies to fall back on. Even frozen kale!

Schools and colleges closed for the upcoming week they said to discuss their next move, possibly online classes. But the big news is the largest rodeo in the world closed down. Cowboys, HS kids, and vendors were in tears. The 1 event they prepare for, the one event they get paid big money for, the one event where kids show/sell their animals for scholarships and college money over and done in the middle of the afternoon.

Up to 23 cases in Houston now. Our temps are warn, in the mid 80's. 1 case was a non-teaveler. It originated here. There goes the "hates heat" theory, I guess? No deaths so far. DH and I take extra Vit. C every day. I'm successfully keeping allergies at bay using allergy eye drops, Mucinex when needed, a mask outside and snorting lots of saline spray.

Stay healthy, Everyone.

I went grocery shopping this morning. No problem with foods. Plenty of beef, chicken, game hens, turkey - ground & frozen, pork. The bottled water isle was low. T paper was almost all gone (we got the last 4 rolls of Charmin) but they still had some other brands, especially on an end aisle display & it was full. I think ppl overlooked that b/c it wasn't on the T paper aisle. They had paper towels. Lots of cleaning supplies remain. No alcohol to be had. Tea & coffee look good. Plenty of peanut butter of many brands & types. Jellies, jams, preserves, syrup & honey were plentiful. Snacks & candy were normal. Looked like frozen food was as normal - we mostly eat fresh fruits & veggies which were plentiful. I saw no problems in the canned goods/boxed goods isles. Employees say it was a mad house yesterday afternoon/evening.
I know their delivery schedule & they get deliveries on Sat. mornings so they may already have restocked stuff like T paper & water.

We are in fair shape as we always do a stock up every month, we buy meat and I label the month and toss in the chest freezer. I counted meals of meat last night and there are 30 which is typical anyway, but we are doing a extra store trip today to get more bread and milk, which I freeze as well, and some more bags of frozen veggies, tuna and stock up on dog and cat food, and LOL, yes we do need toilet paper and hope they left us some...oh, and Diet Pepsi, can`t cope without. We have been going out as usual to eat and to movies. I just want to be prepared on food if entire communities get quarantined, sounds unlikely but will never assume it would not happen!

Something I keep forgetting; I'll have to go on Hulu to see what's available.

Wife and I, and Plato, went into our own isolation mode 3 days ago despite the fact that central Illinois has no confirmed cases. Yesterday the county said they given 9 people tested so far, all of those were ok. Schools in capital City close Monday, rest of state Tuesday.
It's hard to get a handle on why there's so few tests being done to attempt to map the extent of spread. I know the purported reasons and every day since last week have seen the news 'they'll be here the next day, millions to be the next day or by end of week. Still not here or hardly anywhere...
Seems any chance to flatten that curve may soon elude us.
Nothing that's been done can ever be changed.

But common sense will help. If people follow directives given by the CDC, avoid crowds, wash hands, etc., that should help to flatten the curve a lot, I think. With schools and libraries closed and sports cancelled, church services cancelled, people working from home, I think that should have a huge impact, even without mass testing. And, above all, banning travel from other countries. That is, unless people in turn frequent packed bars and restaurants and things like that.

I think most members here are probably in the over 60 population, so are higher risk. We'd all be wise to practice a little social distancing, I think. Not necessarily total quarantine, but just lying low.

I'm always happy to lay low, so not a problem for me. We did just fly home through 4 crowded airports, though, so I suppose we should be on self-quarantine as much as possible. Fine with me. I'm also in one of the worst-hit counties in Washington state although we've been gone for the brunt of that outbreak.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
