I'm sure it was a sign from the rose gods. They need a little tlc, but at least a I have a few roses to start me off.

I haven't found tags on all of them but there are 2 arbors, one has Royal Gold growing on it and the other has Joseph's Coat.
1 of the shrub roses is Candelabra, sort of an orange/red rose and one I think may be Sentimental (at least it's the same color as Sentimental.)
I need to get down on my hands and knees and do some more investigating.

It's good to be home again.

I'm so glad you're back in California. San Diego? Wow! After all the temperature extremes you've been experiencing, this is going to be some serious R&R.

A house already equipped with roses is definitely a good sign.

Yep we are back, I never thought I would live in CA again. It's not that California is perfect, but it's home to me... and hey, you can pretty much garden 365 days a year here.
A mere 3 days after we rolled into town (before we even had a house) I started back to school, it's been a whirlwind to be sure.

Oh and to top it off I took over the Sustainability cubit - I changed the name to "Live Green - Live Organically"

I wish we could garden year round in NY. I always get sad at this time of year as the garden begins to wind down, and I know we are in for a very long, cold winter.

Long, cold winters would make me worse than just sad.
