Rebekah ~ I understand. I have over 100 seedlings from crosses I made in 2018, and I thought they might bloom this year...I think they need to grow a bit more rhizomes, as they still look like bulbs...though some have put out some small increases, so there is hope for next year. Crossing Fingers!

Oh I hope next year is amazing! I am looking forward to your pics!
Rose seedlings are so much easier. If they are a repeat bloomer they will bloom their first season! I hope I get some blooms from my seedlings next yeah but it will still probably be to early for them and that's ok at least I should have some blooms from the mature ones.

Um I planned on keeping records but I just crossed whatever was blooming at the time. So not much better than bee pods but. I'm looking forward to seeing the seedlings bloom, they all came out of my former garden.

I think hybridizing iris takes a world of patience. I cross daylilies and have a higher rate of success. I have some newer ones ordered from Schreiner's and hope in the future to try again. I have yet to get a seedling Angry It was difficult to get a mature pod and those I did get either didn't germinate or didn't make it. Rebekah I am being whiny!

I do have some bee pods on Tribal Fire and Michigan Belle L. Iris I hope mature. Seeds just hold so much promise.
Bee Kind, make the world a better place.

Teresa, yes the irises take quite a bit of waiting. Hybridizing Daylilies sounds like fun. I haven't made any crosses with them, but I did purchase some seed from daylily actions and grew them out. I enjoyed the variation and the number purples. If I remember right I purchased seed from three different crosses. I should do that again. It's kind of exciting. My neighbor has daylillies growing wild in his pasture. There are so lovely mixed in with grasses black eyed Susan, purple hairy vetch and a plethora of other wild flowers.

Tribal Fire is beautiful. I really like the graceful foliage and flower stock of the Siberian's and Louisiana's.

I'm always happy to use rose hips pollinated by bees because they've mostly just crossed the the roses from my own yard . So iris bee pods are a welcome sight to me as well.
