Thank you Gina..this was the first Bulb. that I tried..and was pleased to rebloom it.
Bill, I love the way this is mounted, it seems very happy, even after a few years.
Bill Thoms on the other hand...hates to see Bulbophyllum mounted this way, he much prefers them either in pots or mounted on a slab horizontally, which holds the water better. I think he gave it to me because it hurt his eyes to look at it! Rolling on the floor laughing

Today I finished emptying the greenhouse and front rooms!! Woohoo!! And now comes the scrubbing out part! But first I need to do some repotting.
I kept just a few Orchids on the deck, the Phrag Sorcerer's Fire just started to open.

Love that 'Sorcerer's Fire'! I need to get the inside of my shack scrubbed too, but have to work around the residents to do it. I did remove the temporary shade cloth (60%) , hose down the roof, and get the Aluminet (50%) up yesterday. Hope that will help with the blooming. Windows are all open and fan running 24/7 and no temps below 59 in the forcasts, but still erratic for highs. Crossing Fingers!

Lots of nice plants in flower, everyone. I've yet to go through and add them to the database, but hope to get to that soon.

A couple of Cyms have opened for me over the past week. The first is my replacement plant of Cym. mastersii after, to my chagrin, I managed to lose my plant of Cym. mastersii 'Supremo' to rot (that's the worst thing about Cym. mastersii... being semi-monopodial, if rot gets into the main growth before it produces a new one, which it only does every few years, you have nothing to save).

The other is my plant of Cym. Floreat Eagland, which is mastersii x elegans. Shape and colour are a little different to last year. Bloom count is down due to lack of light where I was hanging it - going to try to resolve that for next year's flowering. This year has confirmed that my particular seedling did inherit mastersii's ability to flower more than once off a bulb, which is great.

I don't think I've ever seen a pure white Cym . Joshua.
They are both beautiful but your mastersii with that little red bit in the throat is stunning!

I've been waiting for this one to open up forever...
Rlc. Jeremy Island 'Carmela' X Rlc. Hawaiian Thrill 'Paradise'

Thumb of 2020-05-23/sugarcane/8e3195
and I WISH this purpurata was mine...it's in the University Botanical Garden where our orchid club volunteers a couple of hours a week.

the plants get watered and fed once a week...that's it.

We spent some time this Memorial Day weekend at our Pennsy place! This is always the time to visit our Cypripedium acaule stands, which would be now in full bloom along with their companion plants. Normally one would now see dozens of beautiful plants in bloom. Not this year!! We are tracking these plants over 30 years and this was the first time nothing was in bloom, neither the regular acaule nor their companion plants. Ferns were barely emerging. That region saw snow still last week and this Spring saw lots of frosty nights.
And then we saw it, oh my!! Cypripedium acaule forma albiflorum!! The only plant in bloom was a white acaule! This one had made its first appearance in 2005 and we protected it then with a cage. It bloomed one more time a few years ago. And there it stood, perfect!! I had to take a lot of pics.... Smiling

We did come across a regular Cyp acaule in bud in the middle of the forest in a different spot.

Wow, Ursula. That's so neat. We have Enc. tampensis down here, and I have a few of those. I've never seen any ground orchids here though.
