I agree I think it looks pretty good.

We are getting melted here, wouldn't it be nice if we had these warmer temps in winter instead of cramming it all into summer and fall? I had an Alocasia not come back from the Christmas freeze even though the trunk was viable. I chopped it up and replanted pieces, hoping they will resprout

Thank You! I had a bad 'spider mite' season Rolling my eyes. and then maybe didn't water enough when the rain quit in May. I thought the brug cuttings would take off once they hit the ground, but no.
Plant it and they will come.

My brug got zapped bad this winter, and then the heat and lac of our normal afternoon showers is taking a toll on it now, not blooming like it usually does. Thumbs down

The Alocasia in pot again, with crinums, has modest size leaves this year on multiple stems. Its the dark stemmed Colocasia in ground going nuts with most gigantic leaf this year. Crinums in ground fully hardy again.

An interesting thread. I have several alocasia in 20 inch pots, but I have some I plant in the ground too. Gads, it's like digging graves to get holes big enough to plant them in. I will get some pix tomorrow.

Kind of hard to tell how large the potted ones are without some comparison. They are in 20 inch pots.

The truck garage has become my "greenhouse" since the truck isn't in there for the winter.........we spend Nov-April in Texas. The ones in the pots I cut all the foliage off. The ones I dig I obviously cut the foliage. I also wash all the dirt off the bulbs and trim the roots. Those bulbs go on a pallet to keep them off the ground and I slide that under the boat. They can sleep there. LOL I think we keep the heat set at 55. My plants don't like it down there for the winter as there isn't a whole lot of light; I seem to have 2 or 3 that just look like crap in the spring and I toss them. Harsh, I know, but..........

Here is a pic of my "truck garage greenhouse", you can see my alocasia I have cut back. The other photos are of the ones that were planted in the ground and how I ready them for winter.
