I think Chance Encounter makes a nice clump. Actually, I think DLs that do well in your climate are the key. Give them sun, room to grow, get the quackgrass out, give them enough water, and watch them grow. Franz Hals, for example, has become a blazing fall bed. Brown Witch made a clump of a couple of scapes!
