I'm still planting. And what I don't get planted soon I will just stick someplace under the pine trees for the winter.

I finally started seeding some winter veggies last week in gallon milk jugs and some are up! I transplanted the daikon to small 2" pots since they were getting too big for the milk jug. What I really should have done is clear out the summer veggies and direct seed, but I have not gotten around to pulling those out. Last year, it was November before the garden was cleaned up and I missed out on a winter garden since it was too late to start anything.

Geez, I'd like so much to do.
Build a fence around the flower garden that's actually on no-one's property (between the hous&yard and the road) - Got some stealing going on and also the neighbor's chickens think of giving me a "hand"
Then, dig up all the trees my DAD planted there long before I claimed that land - mainly plum trees and some young-ish walnut trees.
Dad says plums are good (he makes alcohol) and he wants the walnut trees to grow a bit till he can figure out if the nuts are the good kind (easy to crack, big,...)
Define my paths a bit better (use some gravel/pebbles to fill up the gaps in the slates - favorite spot for weeds)

The list could go on, and on...

I think I'd be in zone 7-ish or closer to 6?
We use Celsius/Centigrade.
Last winter was really cold, lots of gardeners counting their plant casualties in spring.
Like -20 C (about 0 -4 F)

Well, Saturday came and I bargained with dad.
I dug up about 5-6 plum trees and a really big Elaeagnus angustifolia.
Two more walnut trees "bothering" me...but it's a start.

As a result of the space created, I transplanted some bushes around.
Looks so much better now!

Sounds like a lot of work! How did you manage to dig up a tree? I need to dig up a Dogwood tree it has been looking kinda sick and I just don't want to deal with it any more. It's ugly!

Easy. I assign the job to my husband and I supervise! Hilarious!

I spent hours in my yard yesterday. I've actually spent a lot of time in the past few weeks getting my yard ready for winter. No major projects, but general fall clean-up is a lot of work. I've planted a few new perennials, moved others, and dug up and given a few away. I've yanked the annuals, vacuumed and mulched leaves for compost, mulched the tomato beds with lots of leaves and grass clippings. There are a few more things I'd like to do during this week of warm pretty weather, but if I get nothing else done, it would be OK. My yard is about ready to go to sleep for winter. It's gratifying to reach this point.

I envy you for being at the point of gratification. Rolling on the floor laughing Mine seems to be nowhere in sight! I did get my husband to vacuum and chop leaves though. (I did supervise. Hilarious! ) I just need to plant another 75 daylilies and prune some Hibiscus because they are finally done blooming, they are such a joy to see when they are full of blooms. Lovey dubby
I do have some happy news because my new cherry tree has gotten big and is creating enough shade that I can move a few hostas to the back yard. Yippee, more work!! Rolling on the floor laughing

Susan, you are going to have such a show in the spring with all those new daylilies.
Karen, I'm no where near the point you are at in the way of getting things finished for the season. I still have plants to get in. I found 'neptune' heuchera this weekend at a local garden store. I have been looking for that for years!! Hurray!
I bought a few mini daffodils that i need to get in too.
I fell about a month ago and sprained my ankle so that put me 4 weeks behind! Grumbling Grumbling Then I got sick!! Grumbling Then it started raining!! Grumbling
Glad we don't have winters that are too cold. I'll just mulch and things will be fine.

I sprained my ankle real bad two years ago and I still have problems, I just ordered a support band shaped like a V , you pull it over your foot and you can wear it inside your shoes. Mine is always popping. It drives me crazy!! Grumbling

Hilarious! I got tired just reading about all of these projects and then did not have time for mine!!! Rolling on the floor laughing
My projects had to be in the house for I could not be out in the sun and heat due to health issues.
I sure hope this Spring and Summer are better. Looking forward to it being nice.....hopefully.
I know I am late reading but now I am tired enough to go to bed and sleep.

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.

My college age twins are my helpers but sometime they have other plans Angry I have been dividing lots of dls this month. My BIG project for the Fall is to do the Brother label for my Eons markers. That should consume quite a bit of time. I have also been looking on Pinterest and finding some very cute garden art projects!
Bee Kind, make the world a better place.
