I read on here somewhere that white daylily flowers can help equalize the differences between different color and hue ranges (the chartreuse green daylily next to the orange one, for example). And, it seems like it is hard to truly get close to a clear white. I'm hoping we might see the full range of what white encompasses (buff, yellow, green-tint, pink-tinge, etc.) and maybe even a photo or two of garden patches that sprinkle in white flowers between areas of different colors? Green Grin!

Seedlings: I love the fact that some of these are showing a little ruffling on the sepals as well as the petals.

This first seedling will probably be registered. I have reserved the name Ice Crystal

I don't believe I have a truly white daylily, but what is referred to as a near white.

Ann, I truly love your ICE CRYSTAL and would really like to purchase one from you someday!

I searched and searched for a pure white for a couple of years when I first got into daylilies and finally figured out that cream, very very light yellow and/or green, or very very light peach-pink-apricot were as near to pure white as I was ever going to find. Here are the few "whites" that I have.

And last, but certainly not least, is one of Lyle's seedlings that he called his "Bridge Seedling." I have it planted in an area where it gets full sunlight for most of the day, so I think of it as more of a white rather than the pale pink color in his garden. I think it's a true beauty!

I just love looking at everyone's edges on these beauties! It seems like I get something like half the edging that everyone else in more humid climates get. I'm thankful that I get any edges at all, but I sure wish I could have the lavish edges that I'm seeing here!

Ann, Your Ice Crystal is really nice!

Dot, Your pictures are always awesome, And congratulations on naming Ann's seedling !

Karin, I like your BOUNDLESS BEAUTY and TUSCAWILLA SNOWDRIFT , Funny how your Lemon sorbet is showing all that edge where mine only gives me ruffles, and is always near white, Hard to imagine Davis as one of its parents! Mine does real well here in western NC, After searching for two years I finally got some ones last two fans for 125 two years ago, Dug a big hole in the hard clay filled it full of worm poop and up to now I've sold 3 fans on the auction, gave away 3 as gifts and still have 6. Were you talking about the last seedling of mine that you would like to have in your garden?

Later in the season Sorbet photo.

We Enjoy showing them to you Betty, Too bad your flowers wont show more Edges and Ruffles, Been to your town quite a bit and its always so hot! Do you suppose its the heat and not lack of humidity? I live in the mountains of western NC and they do well here.

I think it's a combination of the two. I'm really into the toothy daylilies, and sometimes they will have great teeth here, and other times not so much. And our air is terrible!

Is that one of your seedlings? It's beautiful!
