Some of you know, I think, but some might not - I have a bee site on which I post a new bee shot every day. Kind of like "word of the day" or "quote of the day" - but, instead, "bee of the day".

It's here: https://bees.photo

Have a look if you'd like.

Asa, thanks for posting all the great bee photos!
They ARE amazing little bee-ings. Smiling

What camera do you use?
Very sharp, well exposed, and framed.
Good job! Thumbs up

BTW, flowers are great bee magnets, but also
water lettuce. They fly up from the hive on hot days
to get water at our pond, and water lettuce seems to
bee just the right platform for them.

If you put out a water source for them, they will find it. Smiling

Cal, that pic was shot using a Pentax K-3 and a 90mm Tamron lens.

And you're right...the bees do need water. The bees use our "birdbath" much more than birds do. Not sure if we could even grow water lettuce here...for sure don't have a spot for it. But we're mindful about keeping water around for the bees (normally). Have a neat pic (somewhere) of a wasp in the birdbath floating on the surface tension. The shadows of the water bending under its feet are really interesting.

Here's the shot I posted on https://bees.photo today:
