ediblelandscapingsc said:Valerie all 3 look fantastic. If you keep making mini dips like that your intros will sell like hot cakes :hearts:

Thank you, Daniel. This little mini is in the middle of a seedling bed surrounded by huge seedlings. It will have to be moved, along with its sibling later in the season. I am going to get all of the mini dips into their own bed after bloom season!

I just went out and measured this one, and it is about 12 inches tall with a 2 3/4 inch bloom.

Those are really nice seedlings, Gerry - I'm jealous! nodding Your efforts are really paying off, and I'm glad to see that you're focusing primarily on hybridizing now -- fun times ahead, and I expect great things from you! Thumbs up

Thank you, Valerie, for the encouragement. There is so much that I still need to learn.

Betty, it was a difficult decision to make, and I know that this move will be very rewarding for me.

Daniel, I appreciate your kind words.

Gerry,
Are you going to concentrate on purchasing cultivars to further your hybridizing efforts?

Good luck with your new endeavor, Gerry! I am sure you will find it a very exciting adventure and as you mentioned rewarding as well. I don't think I can completely and exclusively grow only my seedlings and cultivars used in hybridizing. There are so many daylilies I love and enjoy, both oldies and newly introduced. Though having said this, I need to downsize my large clumps as they are taking up too much space. I may have a downsize sale this summer as well.

Some of my white seedlings today.

Valerie, I will be buying new introductions mainly from Karen and Guy Pierce.

Karen, I want to hybridize white daylilies. I will be shopping around. Do you have any recommendations? I am assuming that white is recessive.

Watermarks, edges, and eyes oh my. What a line up Steve Hurray!

So many wonderful seedling posted since I checked in last time.

Daniel - That one out of Blue Jay Tapestry and Stenciled Infusion wowed me. What a face! I hope its stats improve for you in the future.

Karen - What a lot of nice white seedlings you have! I'd love to cross some of those with my near whites, none of which are nearly as white as yours. Maybe we can do a seedling swap when we get enough fans. I love all those sibs out of Maya Blue X Boitzer Rain of Stars too and the cream polychrome too!

Steve - I'm amazed by that bright red you got out of Crintonic Rain Dances. I just love it! I've been trying to get seed out of CRD for two years without any luck. It's always too hot here when it blooms. I've been crossing it with lavenders and purples. I never thought about trying it with a red. Maybe next year. That Paul Aucoin x Izzy Purple grabbed me too!

Valerie - You are getting some really nice stuff out of your blue-eyed breeding!

Tim - What a nice group of seedling out of Keepsake Rosie and Nana Nance! That was an inspired cross. I think every one of them is nice. Let us know if you get a bud builder. I have Keepsake Rosie, but I've mostly been crossing it with other pinks. This year is the first time its kept a pod on for me.

ken - Stenciled Infusion x (Dragonfly Dawn x Cobalt Rings) is a stunner!
