Haven't found anything I'd lost, but sure have found a lot of stuff that I no longer need...including clothing suited to a younger person...lol..
We will have a yard sale.....for sure. You find all that stuff that you once thought necessary to your life and now, at 65, I've learned I don't really need at all.......all of the clippings of ideas, etc. that I would 'someday' get to. What I do find interesting is the things that are consistent...clippings of plants from many years ago that I didn't even realize I'd followed up on from that first look or thought. The recipe clipped from a magazine about 35 years ago that was the basis of the Chicken Cacciatore I still make today. Ideas, thoughts that you pick up at a younger age and are surprised to find you've carried through in your life.
I could be wrong...

Good luck with the move Sherry. I hadn't realized this was in the works. I can't wait to see where you end up and what you create when you are there.
Welcome to the site Bonehead! We PNWs hang around, sigh in envy when the Californian's talk about everything they can grow, breath a sigh of relief about not hitting the crazy temps or the crazy water bills, but we are definitely here!
I had not thought about the zip code tip either. What a great idea.

Thanks for all the welcoming words. I will likely bounce from the Pacific Coast forum to the Northern Garden forum to see which might better suit me. I don't have any particular specialty plant I grow, and typically just use those forums for specific questions from the experts. My other interests are native plants and/or naturalistic gardening ('editing' wild areas in the terms of Ann Lovejoy) and I think the Wildflower forum would be best for that. I'll continue to poke around.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

Bonehead, why don't you, Woofie, Lynn, Margaret, Springcolor, Sherri, and Joy (and others I apologize for not including) launch a takeover of the Pacific Coast Gardening thread? We Californians have been remiss in keeping the forum going. *Blush*

Personally, I would rather just play with you guys.
I think a lot of our stuff gets said in the sempervivum site.
It would be a shame if we lose this spot from inactivity though.
Zuzu, have you really not bought more roses this summer? I've missed the reviews.

I haven't, Sherri. I think I finally ran out of room. I have ordered 8 more that will be here in November, though, so I'd better look around and see where I can put them. I'll post a review of those in my blog when they arrive. I haven't been doing anything with my blog for months, but I'll do some updates soon to report how things turned out.

And I have just been blogging my garden updates and adding a few posts and photos to the Roses Forum. But it would be nice to get that forum going again for all the PNW. We can talk gardening and related weather, I certainly can copy and paste a post into both forums. It would be a shame to loose that forum for lack of use! Semp talk can go on there too! Green Grin!

I agree With Zuzu and Sue about keeping it going. I am afraid I have been remiss in visiting that forum.
We grow lots of things in the PNW, so there sure would be plenty to talk about. Thumbs up

So, let's make an effort to take photos of the stuff that's still going strong in our gardens this week and post them in the Pacific Coast Gardening forum. Let's revitalize it! I'd better do it tomorrow because I think it might rain after that.

We've been so lax about posting in that forum that the October thread is actually the October 2011 thread. Hilarious!

I'll check out the Northern forum.

Nothing against California, but I live less than 2 miles from Possesion Sound, north of Seattle, and the climates are so different that I might as well read a Texas forum.

The Pacific North WET coast.

Well, in other gardening sites, "northern" generally encompasses the cold interior, isolated from the warming coastal influences - extreme cold in "Northern" versus wet and generally mild (by comparison) conditions in PNW. That seems to be how the Northern forum here is populated also... gardeners from the cold interior - zones that the rest of the world doesn't believe plant life can even survive in, LOL!
Gardening in the PNW doesn't have a lot in common with gardening in Saskatchewan... Big Grin

Just my two bits as a newbie here, but it makes a great deal of sense to have a separate PNW forum.

There certainly isn't any problem with having a new forum created, we just want to make sure there is enough interest before we create it.

If 5 people or so want the forum, I'll be very glad to create it!

We would all be very glad to see a PNW Forum. We missed all of the people who populated the PNW Forum at DG and since there did not seem to be a large migration to form a PNW forum, it was decided to include it with the West Coast in general in hopes of having a larger group. I'm thrilled to see that there are enough PNW people interested now to form a PNW forum....we seem to be rather negligent as a group (or maybe just busy in some way) in keeping the Ca talk going....lol..
