Here's the web address for a relatively new grower, EuroDesert Roses: http://eurodesertroses.com/.

Cliff Orent over at EuroDesert has given us a real gift by creating his nursery. He focuses on very hard-to-find cultivars, working to bring them back into commerce. I've purchased from Cliff several times and have been very happy with what I receive. His roses are smaller than some on arrival, but they are very viable. I have not lost a single one of the roses I have ordered from him, which is a fabulous track record when compared to the smaller ones I have received from Vintage.

On a side note, I received an email from Cliff recently about the progress of things at his nursery. As with many of the small nurseries, it's a difficult road. He's pretty swamped taking care of 5000 roses with limited staff while he waits for income to resume with the new growing season. It can be so difficult for these nurseries in the winter months, as the expenses and work continue but the income declines significantly. It's no wonder that many end up closing their doors even when they have a fabulous collection of plants. I hope some of you will consider giving EuroDesert a try... so that you can enjoy some of his elusive cultivars in your own yard as well as support a fledgling nursery.

Here's one of my favorites that I purchased from Cliff. This is Len Turner... still a baby but blooming it's little heart out!

Just for fun, here's another one of Cliff's elusive beauties, Hiroshima's Children. I should mention here, if you see a rose among Cliff's list that you want, you should buy it when you see it. Most of his are VERY hard to find cultivars, and the supply is limited. The rose may very well be unavailable when you check back a month later. When my HC bloomed, several neighbors wanted to buy it, but it was no longer available.

But it is available again now, Evey. I listed HC as an alternate on my latest order.

I love Cliff's rose list. He has some great roses that are impossible to find anywhere else.

Yep, he is. I sent him an invitation to join over here and he sent back a sweet email explaining how swamped he is right now. He said he would drop by the Cubit to say hi soon, but that with only one employee, he has his hands full caring for all the stock during the winter and has little time to literally stop and smell the roses.

Hi, everyone. I'm afraid that the time available for me to visit the various rose forums is minimal these days, but how could I not drop by to say hello (and join!) in light of your supportive and thoughtful comments. We truly appreciate the encouragement we continue to receive; it's what keeps us going. Thank you all!

The Abracadabra from Moore's reverted, but maybe the one from EuroDesert won't.

Besides, remember that it reverts to this. No harm in having another one of these.
