So far this year i have lost three different types of agastache. Mine are all in pots. I keep buying them because i love the scents the leaves give off. I am not sure if its too much rain all at once causing root rot. I thought they were drought plants so i try not to over water. I am in north central fl. So how well do your agastaches do?

I love the scent also but don't think they like our humidity. Maybe try a clay pot and raise it up on a pedistal or something so there is a lot of air circulation around the plant. Crossing Fingers!

I saw some once for sale and tried it, it did well until the heat and humidity increased, died out quickly.

Same here, it did fine from early spring until the humidity hit, then died an agonizing death. I think if you plant it in the fall, you might be able to get it well enough established through the winter to survive through the next summer. Otherwise grow it as an annual in the cooler, drier months.

Same as lavender, it needs to dry out. Plant in cactus mix in a clay pot, and park it under an overhang of your roof - west side would be perfect so it will get sun, but not get rained on and you can control how much water it gets.

Don't ever use that "moisture control" potting soil. It has gel stuff in it that attracts moisture from the air, so in Florida it stays way too wet. (works great for me in Utah, where it's really dry, though)

Same here, I've tried a few Agastache over the years and they do really well until the heat and humidity of summer takes it's toll. The last one I tried was in 2018, Anise Hyssop (Agastache 'Heatwave') It was so pretty and the hummingbirds loved it but by

I agree that the heat and high humidity should tell us to treat these plants as an annual. I put in 2 anise this spring. They are still hanging in there but appear to be suffering. They are in the ground, not a pot
