What is the next painting?. You must have a house full of beautiful art.

I paint during the winter, Ivy, and I haven't decided yet what the next one will be.
You are right, I do have a house full of paintings, some of them not worth making an appearance, though.

You would be surprised by what is out there selling for a nice amount of money. I work in the Chelsea area where the galleries are, some of the art makes me cross-eyed and dizzy. If I told you about some of the ones that made me cringe, you would laugh. Imagining that you may be over critical of some of your work, but I understand.

I see a lot of strange things that are often called 'art', but most don't appeal to me.

I like to paint things that are recognizable, but are not copied perfectly from nature because I don't believe we can improve on nature. That's why you'll see streaky and subtle backgrounds, but nothing really there, like the navy and magenta background of the sunflowers. So mine are not picture perfect. I sort of 'feel' my paintings, more than seeing them. It's like I paint from the inside, not so much what I see on the outside. That way, there will never be another one exactly like mine.

Does that make sense?

In other words, I can't follow patterns and I can't stay inside the lines.
And I can't paint the same thing twice.

That is my type and style of painting. It makes alot of sense. That is what makes it so unique.

I hope you are recovering from all that mess in Manhattan, and I also hope the most recent storm up there didn't create more havoc.

I live in upper Manhattan by the George Washington not near the coastal areas where the tide comes in. My job is near the Chelsea piers in lower Manhattan so our 6 elevators and the 2nd floor was damaged. We have relocated to a building that is closing down. So I am thankful to be able to work.
I had all of my beautiful plants there, because of the wonderful lighting. I will be replacing all of my special plants all over again. Thanks for asking.
