Clematis Piilu: the Little Clematis Who Could

I accidently cut a branch with 6 buds when trimming. =(
So I put her in the bedroom window, and all the blooms opened from 5/1 ~ 5/13/20.

Thank you my friends for the nice comments, acorns & thumbs. Smiling
I've been away a while, and just happened to check in today,
and thought the banner looked familiar. Smiling

I think this is the original pic.

Here is a slideshow of the blooms over almost 2 weeks:
I just changed the water every other day, and added a 1/2 tsp sugar.

I've grown several clematis over the years,
but this one is the best bloomer so far
in our semi-arid eco-system.

I bought 4 Piilu 4" plants earlier this year, and put them in
plastic pots. Each one grew well & had multiple
blooms. They're relatively compact, growing only ~4ft,
at least the first year.

All have their "feet in the shade & tops in the sun",
which I thought was tried & true, but find now it may not
be absolutely necessary.(?)

I'll keep them in pots regardless, as I can control the growing
conditions, and move if necessary. Also, no competition from
rose roots, if pot is on a cement paver....roses roots can be
very invasive.

Also have Jackmanii & Josephine, but Piilu is
my favorite. Smiling
