I had thought that the problem had been eliminated because I haven't had any signs of gall mites on my fuchsias for the last few years, but I can't find any recent information by googling.
And then there's the problem of reliability. Here's a paragraph from one seemingly reliable source:
"The best way to prevent fuchsia gall mites is to plant cultivars that are either resistant to the pest or have low susceptibility. These varieties include Baby Chang, Chance Encounter, Carnival, Cinnabarina, Fuschia boliviana, Fuschia minutiflora, Fuschia microphylla ssp. "Hindalgensis,” Fuschia radicans, Fuschia thymifolia, Isis, Mendocino Mini, Miniature Jewels, Mrs. Victor Reiter, Ocean Mist, Space Shuttle and Trumpeter."
How can a source be reliable if it misspells fuchsia five times in one paragraph?
