Juli, I think most forms of martial arts focus on the self discipline aspect, even those that are offensive forms. Tai Chi is a defensive form. Took several semesters at community college. The instructor was a master and also taught biology classes. While you did NOT want to be a slacker or goof off in one of his academic classes, in Tai Chi instruction he was a very gentle soul, himself.
Maybe if I had family other than my sister (who lives here), or a lot of friends to keep up with, I might have a FB account. Working in some form of customer service for 40 years, though, has made me a near anti-social hermit.
These days, I limit contact to comfortable and contained forums that are safe from hostility - like this one.
I'm too old for all that drama.
