Thread OP
Los Angeles, California
I just recently planted climbing iceberg roses. The ones that I planted alone are thriving. The ones planted beside mature Eden roses Haven't bloomed and the leaves are turning almost Brown. Is it that I'm not watering them enough? Or is it a soil issue? Thanks!!

It is located in an area where the (small) rocks in the top soil absorb heat during the day and release it at night. It is therefore very heat stressed... Its root system is too small/young to absorb enough water fast enough and the leaves brown out. It probably wants lower temps, less sun, less heat, more water, more mulch...

I agree with Luis. These look like very stressful growing conditions to me.

You say you have planted this iceberg rose next to another, more mature rose.
I wonder how the setting of Eden roses compares with the hard surface around this new iceberg. David

It looks to me like the Iceberg is planted RIGHT NEXT to, as in practically up against, the Eden. It's quite possible the Eden is sucking the available water from the soil before the Iceberg even knows it's been watered ;) You're going to have to make sure there's enough moisture for both roses.
It's never a good idea to plant a new rose practically in the same space as an established one. With two roses as robust as Eden and Cl. Iceberg, even planted at the same time, with plants of comparable size, I wouldn't plant closer than 18 inches, preferably more. They are going to compete (read:fight over) for resources. Right now, Eden is winning.
