Gold Medal from Hadeco. This is a large Symphony class red/orange bloom. It looks light red in sunlight and takes on a more orange tint in room light.

Cutting Edge from Amaryllis Bulb Company. A mid-sized, pale green fading to white as it ages, with green throat, raspberry pink markings and a raspberry pink picotee edge. On my blooms, the picotee edge is extremely thin and does not appear on every petal. According to emaryllis.com, the original Cutting Edge, bred in Israel, had a much more pronounced picotee edge. So this is a newer strain (knock off ?) which may be the only one that is now available.

Ken, very nice photo of Alfresco. I like the way that you used backlighting, which is very effective for white blooms.

Bouquet from Amaryllis Man. This is a beautiful, very showy, coral bloom with some sparkles. Photos don't do justice to this one.

La Forest Morton from Amaryllis Bulb Company Showy pink bloom. This is an older cultivar that is rarely seen anymore. Recently, nurseries have been substituting Hercules for this one. I believe this one is genuine, and may be the last time I can purchase it.

Greetings to everyone,
Hopefully you can steer me in the right direction. I have a miniature amaryllis, which I presume to be closest to the Red Lion normal sized amaryllis. Finally after several years of codling, I have a pot full of bulbs that are producing flowers and make an impressive display. I would like to submit this into the NGA data base, but there doesn't seem to be a generic all purpose Miniature Amaryllis category, and I can't back it up with a specific species in the internet, although I can see that it qualifies with all the vital statistics. The height of the flower pot below is 8", the flower height is 18" and the bloom is about 4". How can I share this with NGA's data base? Your guidance and advise will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Beautiful display, and it looks very happy. I would just submit it under Hippeastrum. There isn't a separate miniature category. It could be Floris Hekker which was widely sold several years ago, but I wouldn't want to hazard a guess, since now there are so many smaller flowered reds on the market. Thumbs up

This is the first flush of blooms in the pots outside. New scapes are appearing every day, so this display will continue for another month. Yesterday, my husband saw a raccoon peaking out from the flowers. He wondered if it was looking for grubs or insect larva or just thought that it was a nice napping spot. I'll be upset if I discover that it has been breaking the scapes or munching on the blooms,

I woke up all my amaryllis very late this spring, so they are just blooming now.

Here's my favorite of all -- Exotic Star. Especially in person, this one has incredible presence, IMHO:

Ron is that 'apple blossom' ? There's a lot of pinks now it gets confusing. It is just...'Stunnin'..... I tip my hat to you.

Amazindirt..that's a gorgeous butterfly . Huge bulb?

All the bulbs I forced for the holidays are all hanin out in pots. Just green foliage...happy campers...
