This beautiful tour made me feel once again the pain of losing this individual…. Jack was a Master in gardening, but his greatest asset was his unstinting kindness to everyone he met. He was truly humble. He often took the time to help our newest members, including me, and never missed an opportunity to help any gardener with their specific issues. The world is poorer for his passing.

Every time I see a cabbage butterfly I think of Jack - he posted a lot of photos of "cabbage whites". They are a huge pest for me so I think of him often during the summer! Smiling

I was thinking of Jack when the bulbs started to emerge. He had such beautiful gardens and was always so helpful Group hug

Thanks for reminding me about his garden tour, Joanna.
What an amazing guy, and reflected in he & Deby's garden.
A real labor of love. And Plato helped out, too.

Jack was on my mind a few days ago when I saw my Gloriosa (Fire) Lily starting to emerge.
I was having trouble growing them, and asked him what his secret was.
He said he just put his in Miracle Grow Potting Mix, and it worked great.....and he was right. Thumbs up

I would like to grow asters like he did, & haven't had success yet.
But will try, try again. For Jack! Smiling

Hey Cal,

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that many others had a similar experience. Jack guided me through New England Asters and now, I can't get rid of them! They're huge and prolific! But the butterflies don't seem to like it as much as they seemed to for Jack. Oh well, they're still beautiful, and always remind me of him. nodding

He did. So gracious. I really enjoyed re-touring his garden via the article. I'll probably do it again sometime soon.
