I think you will like 'Henry Eilers'. I've been growing it and don't find it invasive here. At least so far.

Are you talking about the burgundy one, R.'Chocolate Cherry'? I have it but not sure I've still got seeds.

Are you talking about 'Cherry Brandy'? I had one but mine came out brown and I got rid of it, I hear some do that. I might have some seeds, I buy a lot of seed on eBay because they are cheap.

Tee, you got a picture of that R.'Chocolate Cherry'? I tried to look it up and all I get is milk shakes!

I love some of the plants that are started from seed I've saved from Cherokee Sunset Rudbeckia.

I was just looking at some 'Prairie Sun' Rudbeckia and I noticed they look really good with blue flowers that are the same height. I don't know what kind they were. Any ideas?? I just ordered some seeds. Green Grin!

I do not think it comes true from seed, I have read a lot of negative reviews about small brown flowers and I did buy a plant the year before last and I ended up with brown flowers too. Then it died. I have not tried anymore.

Green Grin! Sue, where did you get yours?

Does your coneflowers increase very well in TN? They seem to grow pretty slow for me. I bought Double Decker at the Nashville Lawn and Garden Show several yrs ago and it still a small clump Sad

Teresa, some of the hybrids haven't done well for me. I've lost 'Tomato Soup' several times so I won't plant it again. I've read elsewhere that it is finicky ... along with some of the others.

Have you tried the Tennesse Coneflower (Echinacea tennesseensis)?. It is a native that has recently been removed from the Endangered Species List. It is sometimes slow to take off, but once it does, it does well in this area. The good old purple Cones (Echinacea purpurea) seem to do best for me. And 'Magnus' does too.

In gardens around here, the Cones sometimes succumb to too much rain. They are also subject to the aster yellows. Sad

My coneflowers have not done well either. Too much rain, a few rotted especially over the winter. Again we are getting a lot of rain over the winter and I do not even know if any will make it. I put most into a new raised bed and I am hoping for the best. Thumbs up
