Allison it looks awesome!!!!!!! Wish I could find the time to drive up and see it.
Just spent the last two weeks getting our haunted castle up for the Halloween Walk Through. Lots of rooms with tons of twists and turns. Been lots of late nights, little to no sleep and finally the big day is here. Happy Halloween everyone. Have a bit of tweaking to do and get out a few more monsters this morning and order the pizza to show up at 3pm so we at least have time to eat before the trick or tr-eaters come. Had The police department out last night patrolling for goosey night and they stopped by cause they loved it. The officer even asked for the address so he could go back to the station and tell everyone. EEkkkkkk
Something tells me after seeing all the cars, walkers and even the school buses stop in front of the house that 400 treats won't be enough. Kinda looking forward to Saturday so I can SLEEP in.

I think it was a few less than normal with the rain.. but it was over 80 kids.. lots of parents added in.. and quite a few cars just coming to watch the show

I'm working on getting some pics together of our haunted castle walk through. As of now I only have a walk through video posted on facebook that a friend took with her phone. We had 168 walk through the haunt and at least 75 parents who stood at the cemetery waiting for the kids to come out of the haunt. Over all it was a fantastic night. Warm with a few spots of drizzle but nothing that interrupted the haunt. Our last customer was at 11pm. Now the fun begins taking it all down. Started yesterday but exhaustion took over.

blows my mind how much work you guys do Karen.. did a great job.. would make me nervous if someone got hurt inside the walk through.. people are too crazy with lawyers today.. very cool how much foot traffic you get.. car traffic here.. I bet it's only a 1/4 of what we get for Christmas.. but someone sat out there for over a half hour last night.. different kind of audience for sure

The haunt is on level ground, built out of 2 x 4 construction and the rule is Touch nothing and no one will touch you. We only let 4 in at a time. All props are secured down as well and no sharp edges anywhere. Been doing haunts on the front lawn (two different locations) for 30 years now. The only incidents we ever had was someone peed them selves, lots of lost candy, costume parts, flashlights that got left behind. (knocking on wood)

Now if you leave it up for Christmas, you won't have all the work taking it down. At least Christmas is just car traffic.

Thank you, Now the fun begins packing it all away and sorting it into totes for storage. The castle interior is different ever year and those that are repeat customers always enjoy it and say Wow it's different than last year. Keeps them in suspense and wanting to come back year after year. They never know what to expect. The plans are under way already for next year. Fencing for crowd control along the front yard so the kids don't run through the extension cords and knock the wires out. New front entrance and exit facades for the Castle as well. New room designs are already in the making even though we haven't finished packing up.
