we took a stroll through an old cemetery for inspiration yesterday at our monthly Halloween groups gathering.. thought it was pretty cool how a couple of the photos I took look like they have a halo over the tombstones

Can't wait to finish the dragon plaque.... Those cemetery photos are creepy with that halo. I'm standing to left of the two guys in black right under that halo.

Lucy we set up a 1750 sq. ft. castle on our front lawn ever year for halloween. It's complete with various rooms to walk through and live actors on the inside. Every year the inside walk through is different. The Dragon plaques will be used either in one of the rooms (living room, dungeon room) or might hang outside the entrance to the castle. We do an old school halloween haunt walk through with no gore complete with a 1700's-1800's cemetery that we erect for the occassion. It's all pretend and the visitors come year after year. Every year it gets bigger and bigger. It's a huge hobby for us and we work on it all year long.

Love the dragons, and the halo over the tombstones is thought provoking. My street ends in an old cemetery--really! It is a very busy place.

could barely read any stones in this one.. always amazes me that the weather or whatever can wash away the stamping or carving

I know what you mean. I was in there looking for a theme or a story for a project I was doing for my Death and Dying class in 2012. Most of the oldest stones were too deteriorated to read. They seemed to be from Civil war era--lots of town vets, whose family names are still well known, were there. I also remember a lot from Spanish-American War.
