Bill, April will be here before you know it! That's the best time of the year here for birdwatching, perhaps it is for you, too. I think I'm going to set my life to fast forward to April. Hilarious!

Glad to hear you've improved so much, Bill! We're taking it seriously, especially since all 4 parents are at high risk, unlikely to survive a bout with the virus IMO. It's hardest on our 11 year old.

It's really not anybody's constitutional right to go maskless in the midst of a health crisis. Stores need to be more proactive with asking customers to put on a mask or leave... I've seen a few cashiers without masks, too, but not often. Yes, we're not sure how well masks work, as most of the studies have involved wearing masks plus washing hands plus social distancing. However, they are unlikely to be useless, especially for protecting those around you in case you are an asymptomatic carrier. Do your part! Wear a mask!
We're all learners, doers, teachers.

This will be my final update. I am back perhaps 90% and seemingly going no further.
It will just take time I guess. My sense of taste is back around 30%.
I try to walk a little further everyday.

So glad you're on the downside of it! Hurray! My husband had it in June, a milder case, but lost his sense of taste and smell. He's recovered well, except he smells cigarette smoke all the time. He's jumped through all the medical hoops, but with no real answers. They expect that part of his brain to heal, but it takes time. He's one of the 10% of those who have had covid. He was tired for about a month after his symptoms subsided, but he's fully back to life now. It's an ominous thing to face, give yourself permission to take it easy for a while. Smiling Crossing Fingers!

Thanks for the update, Bill. Unfortunately it does seem to take some time to recover and depending on the extent of the. damage, it may take months for taste/smell to return properly - the brain has to build new connections for those senses.

Well, once we hit the Fall up here, my circle of travel kind of collapses. I was diagnosed on Halloween.
Prior to that I had been to Orchid Judging 10 days earlier. We sit 6-8' apart at folding tables. I judged with two others for and hour and a half, masks on. That's on a Saturday.
During that time I bowled Monday night. Typically a team of four versus another team of four. 3/4 had masks on but when I bowl I didn't wear one. Walking around or coming and going I do.
The only other point of exposure was Supermarket once every 10 days, masked, half hour event.
So pick one that seems likely!

I will say the week before on Friday, the afternoon, I suddenly felt crappy. It was sudden. BUT I felt fine over the weekend and Monday was food shopping.
I was hit pretty quick and hard with malaise, no appetite and just felt lousy! I think that was Tuesday but I can't be sure. By Saturday, I said I needed to take myself to the ER due to how crappy I felt and how fast and hard it hit me.
Within 45 minutes I had the results.
Then the first 2 weeks all I was able to do was drink fluids and fight off the ragging squirts three times a day!

That's how I think it began.

I live alone so I have never been one to wash hands but at my house the only contact would be mail or Amazon packages!
I would wash after bowling or food shopping. Could I have picked it up from the mail/package? Not sure.
I mean what do you see?

I went to garden centers and such, masked, during the nice weather otherwise yard work.

My guess would be the bowling, indoors, higher chance of droplets, not consistent with mask wearing.
