Philodendron genevivianum has been determined to actually be Philodendron serpens. Don't be fooled. If you have a Serpens, buying a Gennie is a duplicate

Anthurium luxurians 'Quilted Heart'. Old TC cultivar released by Agristarts in the early to mid-2000's. Currently carrying 7 leaves...the most I have ever had on one of my luxes

Not rare but beautiful philodendron Burle Marx, this is grown outdoors in a indirect sun, sheltered from N winds. The leaves are always so shiny. They say nothing under 60F, however has endured temps down to freezing in zone 9b, covered with frost cloth, uncovered down to 35. Propagated from a cutting three years ago.

Those shiny leaves really light up the area. Good growing! Thumbs up

Now that's nice. I did a walk around checking out all my philos. There are some with yellowing leaves, but surprised how good they all look. Only my P. squamiferum looks the worst, lots of damaged leaves and some new growth zapped, but the core of the plant is putting out new growth, so will bounce back. It is so big to bring in, I have to cover it up.

Squami is not at all cold tolerant. I had 2, one growing farther in to greenhouse with a lot of other stuff on a pole, and one growing on the edge right by the wall. The one on the pole is fine, the one by the wall completely defoliated and died last Christmas in the freeze.

Hilarious! I was wondering how you grew things on an apple then I realised spell check changed "a pole" to the fruit. Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

LOL I was wondering about the apple too. I am pondering what to do with squami, I really like it, but too big to grow inside. I have it in a very protected area, probably should have covered it better.

I was really shocked that it folded once like that. Myself and a friend bought a big one (3 gallon,, had like 6 plants in it) at Home Depot when they had them and split the cost and divided the plants. It was doing really well over there by the wall. It only got to 24-25, it wasn't like it was 19-20F. It was probably above freezing there but it completely melted. The one on the apple (lol) was only about 6-7 ft away and was totally fine

My squamiferum a gallon pot at Lowe's on clearance, so got it half off. The first winter I brought it in the porch and left it until nights went back above 50. Loved the porch, kept putting out new growth all winter. Outside the next year did great for a few months, then stopped putting out new growth and found it had a ton of roots coming out. I transplanted it into a larger pot. It was back to putting out new growth again and looking very happy, now doubled in size. I didn't really cover it until we dipped below 45. The damage was done before we went below 40, so it really is one that likes to be above 50.
