Hi Melva! I haven't seen you for a while. For now all my roses are dormant with the snow and cold. I hope they all survive. How are you doing? How's your roses?

It seems like years since we've seen Melva here, but speaking of absent members, you haven't been that active either, Marti. It's so good to hear from you. I hope you'll check in more often in the coming year.

I had not noticed the date! I am very fond of the Bourbons that I grow, but I don't take good pictures. I am glad Zuzu added some.

I've been busy trying to survive this cold weather. Last yr I had my left shoulder torn rotator cuff repaired now am looking at have the right shoulder done and I was just informed last week that I need a total knee replacement on my left knee. Ouch!! Will sure mess up my gardening for this yr also. I'll know what we are doing on the 11th of Feb.
I had my maple trees trimmed and could not afford to have all the branches hauled off so my yard is a mess of tree trimmings. I found a guy who wants the firewood and he is helping me with burning the trimmings as he digs out the logs. That is if the weather would just co- operate and give us a few dry days to get some more burning done.

It sucks when our bodies don't cooperate with our gardening plans! Glare I broke an ankle over a year ago and it really set me back for the entire year pretty much.
Hope the tree clean-up goes as planned for you @marti Thumbs up

I am having surgery on my right shoulder on March 6th. Between now and than I need to get some things done and see if I can get cable tv in the trailer. I talked to my nephew & I told him that after surgery I was going to be laid up here for 2-3 weeks and going crazy trying to get up and down to put a new DVD in the player and I would take him with me. He says to check into which tv network I want and he will pay to have it put in and we will spilt the monthly bill. That will give me something to watch besides DVD's.

I need to get some bigger pots for some of my roses. They have outgrown the pots they are in. Transplanting them later in the yr will be something I look for ward to as my shoulder heals.

Sounds good to me, Marti. I don't know what I'd do without cable TV.

I didn't realize I had been gone so lt is long. My body has faiiled me too, haven't been outside much but plan to do so soon and even get back into rooting roses..many of them have died from neglect but some of them have thrived. It is Darwinism in action!

Shoulder surgery last yr went fine. This yr it was a total knee replacement of my right knee. Healing well and getting back to getting aroundwith a cane. Plus I pinched the sciatic nerve in my left hip. Now that has been a problem. But am getting better and taking it easy. I too lost alot of my roses with the fact that I couldn't get out and care for them and we had a bad winter with lots of snow. Once the ones left bloom I'll see what I have left. I have some friends that moved in with me to help me during my recovery and they are working to fix my garden up and other problems I have around the the trailer in exchange for rent. They are a great help and good friends.
