I am curious, is this your Passiflora Iridescence?

Yes it is, Ursula. I take it to my basement in the winter and it goes dormant, than bring it back up in the spring.

It is a beauty! I see you are in zone 3, so it would have to come inside in the Fall. I am in 6b and it would survive outside in my garden, perhaps with some mulching. If I may, this is not really a Tropical, right?

I guess that is in your perspective. Coming from zone 3 it seems pretty tropical to me. If you can grow it in New Jersey outside, go for it, or if you don't feel it's in the right category you don't have to vote for it.

You are kidding, right? Smiling

Perhaps this little clip might clarify this misconception:
"Tropical plants are defined as all vegetation growing in a wide band around the equator between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. "

You might remember me from last year asking about it when it actually won 2. place in the Orchid and Tropical category. I complemented your very nice picture, although one look at it had told me that it surely has Passiflora incarnata/MayPop in its parentage, which is hardy to zone 5b.

In any case, and I mean it sincerely, it is a gorgeous and interesting plant and I don't blame you for entering it. However, I am amazed that nobody noticed the error!

This plant does grow in Hawaii, I think that qualifies as tropical.
