I have acquired lots of new Delbard roses since March 2010, which is when I posted my earlier photos, so I might as well add them to this thread.

I also have Nahema and La Rose du Petit Prince, but I don't have photos of them yet. First Edition was in my first series of photos, but here's a much better photo of it.

What a lovely group! I think my favorite is Celine Delbard.

It is difficult to pick a favourite.
The one that really intrigues me is Red Intuition. Might have to add this one next year Big Grin

There are four Delbards in my garden:

France Libre which Zuzu has already posted. Didn't do that great this year - had quite a bit of black spot. More so than in previous years but then so did quite a few other roses.
Thumb of 2016-11-24/sunnyvalley/c7b27c

Mamy Blue - not the most vigorous or healthy of roses but has a wonderfully strong scent and the colour is exquisite.
Thumb of 2016-11-24/sunnyvalley/4426e2

Edgar Degas - very good disease resistance and quite vigorous. This rose puts on a great show - only problem with mine is it hardly ever shows its stripes Sad
Thumb of 2016-11-24/sunnyvalley/7fc91f

La Rose du Petit Prince - This is a rose I can really recommend. A good grower (it gets big), healthy, lovely perfume and one of my favourite colours.

Any one else with Delbards to add?

Can anyone read the words "Petit Prince" without picturing a drawing of a snake that has swallowed an elephant?

Thanks for starting this beautiful thread, zuzu. Delbard has introduced many beautiful roses over the years and I have really enjoyed growing few of them. Maurice Utrillo and Henri Matisse are outstanding performers in high heat and get really big. Papi Delbard also blooms profusely in my area.

Last year I planted two Delbard roses and both are doing well.

Chartreuse de Parme has an intoxicating scent and a very unique cerise pink shade.

Nahema has lovely scent and I have it climbing a tree. It is in a pot and doesn't seem to like it much. I think I will have to shift it in the ground. Doesn't bloom as profusely as many other Delbard roses.

best regards

I agree
There is an interesting colour deviation on one of the outer petals - or do my eyes deceive me? I probably only noticed it because there has been a discussion about striped roses in the December chat.
I don't grow Chartreuse de Parme but do have Big Purple from which it is descended - quite a bit of similarity IMO.

Yeah, it was just that one petal that had a pale blotch on it. All the rest were pretty uniform magenta-ish colour.

BREATHTAKING. Do you have clippings of this? Seems I have a knack for finding out about flowers after they have been of the American market. The entries for this on the database are spectacular. So delicate yet striking.

Thanks, Carol. I hope you saw my disclaimer, stating that Black Beauty doesn't really belong on this thread because it's a Kordes rose. It is a beauty, however, and much prettier than the Abracadabra I originally bought, in my opinion. It's one of the cases in which the reversion of a sport was a positive change.

Sorry, Goldbeard, I don't do cuttings. My present chores keep me too busy to add anything else to the mix, and I'm too old to expend the extra energy. Smiling

Zuzu - I agree with you... Black Beauty is stunning!! And, another good thing about it, is that its gorgeousness will show up in pictures...a lot of roses don't photograph well...and this one does! The velvetiness is amazing!!

Wow Zuzu! You have a great collection of Delbard roses. I really wish we could buy them and the Tantau roses. I only have one Delbard - Mitsouko which I got from Palatine but they aren't carrying it anymore. Sad

Oh, Ann. That is a fabulous photo! And it's just the kind of rose I love. Yellow and pink is my favorite combination.

Unless my eyes deceived me, I think I saw a Nahema bloom today. It seems impossible because I bought the rose in 2008 and grew it for 10 years, waiting patiently for it to bloom. Last July I noticed that it was dead. It must have come back, however, because I don't have any other light pink roses planted in that corner. I couldn't get close enough to take a photo because I was wearing a sleeveless dress and the rose is growing near lots of thorny monsters. Tomorrow I'll put on a long trenchcoat and make my way into that bed with my camera.
