I already posted this picture in my parade (as it is), but I just love this Pinstripe. The fully-opened flower is no bigger than a quarter this year (bigger than last year.. last year they were the size of nickels).

It's a tiny rose, Barb. So far, it hasn't really produced any extra branches for rooting.

Strpes and blends are my favorites.

Here is my Variegata di Bologna.

The only thing I don't like about it is
that here in North texas, it only
blooms for a short time in May,
around Mothers Day.

But since it is an antique, circa 1700's,
I give it a pass.

At our ranchiito we do NOT keep bees.
They and other critters grace us with their presence, and we provide for their need to the best of our abilities.

My favorite striped rose is named after my rose mentor and bred by Ralph Moore .... looks lousy in a container because it truly needs to spread it's roots to set itself up for a real show.
What makes it very unique is that it is also a modern moss rose

'Kim Rupert' bloom

I've got gobs of photos of this rose, because it's so different in differt seasons.

Oh Lyn, that is such a cheerful rose! I will have to find that one. I think I saw it on a list from Burling a few years back. Maybe she still has it. My red and white striped bed Needs this rose!

Newyorkrita said:Mine has got to me Camille Pissarro, I got this rose early last fall. But I had wanted it for years.

In fact last year I decided to add more striped roses to the garden and Camille Pissarro was top of the must get list.

I also got some striped ones last summer from Roses Unlimited. I added JULIO IGLESIAS, ALFRED SISLEY and HENRY MATISSE.

A striped rose I already had in my garden was WONDERSTRIPE from Heirloom roses.

@Newyorkrita,

How has the rose Alfred Sisley performed in your garden?
Is it disease-resistant?
Do you spray it or treat it with systemic chemicals to prevent disease?
How vigorous is it?
Any fragrance?

Thank you!

I spray every two weeks with systemic fungicide. If I did not do that I would have naked roses that dropped all leaves due to blackspot.

Truthfully it is now years and years later and I don't even remember where those last three roses are or if they bloom a lot. Sorry.

I have no idea how this popped up for me but what a great thread. I love my stripey roses! Love the bi-colored ones too! It is like getting two plants for the price of one. For us small space gardeners, that is terrific.

Here are mine (so far)

Candice (in all her different reiterations)

Peppermint Parfait--another great Ralph Moore rose. Love this one!
