Thanks to everyone for the great conversations and new plants that were shared. Rick made everything so lovely for us and had a great setup in his amazing yard. I enjoyed meeting our newest members of the group and seeing our regulars as well.

Somehow we managed to get the 3 of us and all the plants in the car and back to VA. A wonderful afternoon!

Terri, thank you for letting me draft you as my Plant Fairy. I tried not to get too crazy... hope the PB shrubs got homes (I asked Chantell to "pimp" them for me).

I sure did miss everybody today. Torn between a family event and seeing my MAG family. Hope we'll have other chances to meet up over the summer.

@RickM - thank you so much for putting this together! Hopefully your Advil'd up and resting by now!!! Do not eat all those cookies - share with your neighbors. My apologies ahead of time as your next door neighbor wanted a PB shrub. To my defense, I didn't know when I was pimping it out that she lived literally next door <yikes> Sadly I only had about 20 mins at that nursery near you...still managed to drop $35 LOL Guess it's good I didn't get there earlier.

To the rest of you...can I just say it literally did my soul good to see all of you (Jill - next time for sure)!!! Having a couple of plants come full circle back to me warmed my heart and put a smile on my face. Knowing once again that I'll be surrounded in my yard by my plant family's plants is just the bestest!! Hoping next year, I'll be able to pass along a few plants of my own to you all!! Big hugs!! Rick, let me add my thanks as well. I absolutely love your gardens and it was so great to see everyone. So very much appreciated after the crazy year we've all experienced with the restrictions and isolations. Good company, beautiful weather, good food, great surroundings... what a perfect day!

As a side note for Rick, Sally was able to id that pretty plant that you said showed up and was awesome when it was covered in bloom. There were one or two small blooms left that she got a photo of, and along with a photo of the leaves, she found this match:

Rick, thank you for hosting, your garden is so beautiful----with all the beautiful tall trees surrounding your property , with lush new light green color. And then all those Rhodondesdrons, hostas and perfect weather! So nice to meet again old friends and meeting new members. The food was also impressive. Had Sangria for the first time. Thank you all for sharing your plants with me, and Frenchy and others for helping load and unload the plants, for Frenchy to give me a ride---I was exhausted when I arrived home -Have to plant my new plants- hope they will all survive----Thanks again all----

Thanks so much Rick for hosting such a fantastic event! It was fabulous to see your lovely gardens, meet so many amazing gardeners, taste all the wonderful variety of foods and enjoy the new friendships and conversations! We haven't had so much fun in a long time, thank you Rick for all your hard work! And trading plants was the icing on the cake. I hope we can all get together again this summer, we'd be willing to host something. (Bob & Sheela)

Rick, Teri and I admired your rock borders. We really enjoyed your work in the yard with those! I did not take rocks after all, but we both find it interesting how rocks tell the geology of the site. Mine are blobby 'iron fieldstone/ ironite' or something.

we haven't had actual rain this week and my yard is pretty dry right now.
I used to come home with many swap items and then put them in ground, somewhere, anywhere, as long as they went in ground. I lost plants that way. I could forget where they were and not water them all. It can be much better to have them potted and in a shady place all together for easy watering, and take your time deciding where to plant and when.

I gave out some bare root bagged items that I 'think' and hope will be ok if soaked and then potted up for cuttings some way. Those were two aggressive suckeing shrubs. They could be put in ground as long as you can water them often.
Plant it and they will come.

Mine. Queens Tears. Originally ecnalg Pat. I keep a few on or near my deck. Frogs like to live in them. Blooms are amazing, that may not bloom this year. .. after a rosette blooms, it adds two new pups. The new pups are what blooms next.
Plant it and they will come.

They're fine outside in mostly shade until frost. Then they can live inside with next to no water until spring. They can really scratch you as you tend to them. Try to water inside each leaf cluster.
