It's raining today, so I will not work in the garden. I bought two pots of hyacinths yesterday, pastel pink and pastel yellow. I want to mix them with white hyacinths in the herbaceous peonies on the terrace. The idea is to have whites and pastels that glow in the dark, so that I can see them late at night through the window and patio door.
Approximately every hour, I go out to see how my tree peonies are growing. They're all growing now, even the newly grafted Yachiyo Tsubaki that I got from Alex has started leafing out
The tree peony seedlings and new additions are still fragile
I can't wait to see them established and out of the woods!
I noticed one more little thing, possibly a peony seedling. I don't understand what it might be. The little leaf is green and a bit shiny. It doesn't look like something growing from a root of a herbaceous peony because there was no hood (or that bullet phase). The little leaf just showed up two days ago. All my tree peony seedlings are still reddish and not shiny. What can that be?
