I live on the east coast of NSW and own a few begonias. I have them inside (except for an ice queen because Its thriving in the morning sun) as I fried a strawberries and cream by having it outside when summer hit, it was going amazing up until that point.
No matter where I put them they either get crispy leaves that dry and die or they wilt and become sad looking. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I've tried watering them more and less and moving them around but any sun even morning sun seems to cook them too much. Currently they're in an east facing window behind several sliding blinds.
Does anyone have any experience similar to this, if so how did you fix it?

I live in a Mediterranean climate with cool summers but very dry and sunny. Mine are all placed inside far from the north facing window...about 30/40 cm which looks into a covered balcony about 1.20 mt deep. That means they are quite far away from direct sunlight. This said for today in mid summer. They keep that position all year round and in mid winter the sun shines much lower and they get winter (weaker) sunshine for about 2 hours a day. In winter we get more often overcast and grey days too. I've got 5 different varieties. They all seem to be doing fine. They don't like too much water. Here just once a week in midsummer. My high today will reach 25ยบC perhaps. I've tried a few more varieties like B.rex but at that time I didn't have good heating in winter and it didn't make it through.
I hope this helps.
Arturo

It might be lack of humidity. What kinds are you growing?

The transition from inside to outside can so easily cause sunburn. Try starting with the first or last hour of the day for some sun, then shade the rest of the time. If you're in Z10, cane, wax, and rhizomatous Begonias should be root hardy, if not fully evergreen.

I have a few kinds but I'm not too sure what they are, I don't know much about begonias other than I can't have them grow well

I put these outside the day before it got really windy and it ruined the back one but otherwise these are my begonias

I live in very similar zone to you, I'm in zone 10, and I put them in the shade. It's where I would have my hostas.
