I live in a Mediterranean climate with cool summers but very dry and sunny. Mine are all placed inside far from the north facing window...about 30/40 cm which looks into a covered balcony about 1.20 mt deep. That means they are quite far away from direct sunlight. This said for today in mid summer. They keep that position all year round and in mid winter the sun shines much lower and they get winter (weaker) sunshine for about 2 hours a day. In winter we get more often overcast and grey days too. I've got 5 different varieties. They all seem to be doing fine. They don't like too much water. Here just once a week in midsummer. My high today will reach 25ÂșC perhaps. I've tried a few more varieties like B.rex but at that time I didn't have good heating in winter and it didn't make it through.
I hope this helps.
Arturo
