We love all nesting birds and try to attract Blue Birds each spring. Our best locations seem to be on isolated fence posts away from buildings, people and cats/dogs. They are more difficult to photograph but it can be done with a zoom lens. Here are a few of ours. No matter where we locate the nest boxes they make the final choice.
Both parents checking it out. The car & truck in the background are at least a half mile away. In the 3rd picture she seems to be saying, "Don't rush me!" 4th picture is of the male checking out a viburnum just behind our back window.

Yep, she's either saying that or, "I like the vaulted ceiling".

My hubs & I have a lot of fun watching them check out houses & consulting with each other. We "suppose" what they are saying to each other (mostly based on making fun of the TV show "House Hunters".

I got this gourd that I never thought would be of interest to any of our locals! I liked it mostly for the artistry!




But Lo and Behold….We've had a Carolina Wren couple 'checking it out'! Never would have thunk it! I figured it would be just an ornamental piece! I'd love to see a 'couple' decide to make it a "home"!!!!
