The one I garden named after my sister needs a couple more years to be evaluated. Regardless (unless it completely poops out this year) it will be registered. Just not sure if I want to get into the introducing part of it. I may just pass it around Big Grin

Thanks for the clarification Juli...and yest Natalie it is very understandable why you can't 'just register it'...it's got to really hard when there are 3 people involved too.

Juli I wil go ahead and put "the announcement" on the home page or whatever you said! I will check again...thanks!

Here is the info from the AHS site that pertains to registering a seedling if you were not the hybridizer. Scroll down to about half way and you'll see a heading "Originator" "Name and address of registrant" and "Permission statements"... The info is probably copyrighted, so I don't want to just cut and paste. Please see this link.

Thanks for the info Juli. Even if it was perfectly fine to do it, it didn't feel right to me to do it, and I would have never considered doing it without permission. I will check into it getting registered though after I get it moved to Idaho with me. I'd be more than willing to pay for the registration because I adore it! There may be another reason why the person who grew it first doesn't want it registered, but from what I was told, it was only because of the cost, Even with mystery parents, it's worth it to me to help with the registration.
