MissAlice, your gardens are looking great!! Love all the color this time of year.
Would you please contact EJ, please. Thank you for the update on Tanya, I always
enjoyed her garden posts.

Oh DJ, you bring back some names of folks I hadn't heard from in years. Eltel, was away
at an appointment and when he returned Jeanett was found in the garden where she
passed away. Love your daffs.

Gardenglory, Alot of my friends went with me after Spike through a fit there at DW. Yes, we
headed for Daves. Shortly after 911 I left there and went to Hallson Garden and EJ also
requested I do GB as he knew I did Brugs. Back in those days I did a lot of trading and kept
a cards on everyone I traded with.

Wow, sad news all around, with Eltel's wife and Tanya's husband. I would imagine there are many major stories like these behind the reasons others left GB over the years. Thank you Karma and MissAlice for the updates.

The tree people are here to take down our tree. They showed up yesterday to strap the tree together so it wouldn't come down in the rain and high winds. It's another high wind day today, though, and I would not want to be these guys working in those conditions. Another tree snapped its top off just as they were setting up. Crazy. You can see the chain and device on it that held it together until they could come to work on it.

The winter honeysuckle is blooming. I love the color. I haven't seen any bees yet this season, I don't think, but dinner is served!

DJ, I feel your pain on trees!! Our yard is trashed this am after 21+ mph winds hit and not looking forward in
the cleanup today in the pouring rain.

I understand, from my friend in Council Grove, that it is terribly windy. Her husband is a volunteer fireman and they have just been called out on a 600 acre fire that is rapidly spreading.

When I was out for a walk earlier this evening, I saw our local VFD returning from a call. Walking into this much wind is work. I saw an elderly (80s) neighbor walking across the yard from his daughter's house to his house, bent over sharply to fight the wind. It was good to see him out, though. This past winter was not easy on his health.

Love your Prunus, Roelie. Ours (Prunus cerasifera) is not blooming yet. I hope we get some bloom on it by mid-April.

Thanks for your kind words about my garden Roelie.

I heard back from Ej that he'd heard from Roelie. I gave him instructions on how to find us if he wants to. I am so appreciative of all he has done for us over the years! It looks like he is very busy closing down his business. He keeps talking about moving too.

We have below freezing temperatures in the forecast! If that happens, I'll be devastated. For the first time in 10 years, the azaleas are absolutely packed with buds--just about ready to pop! They changed our last frost date from April 15 to April 1 a few years ago. Now they might have to change it back to mid-April again.

Here is a picture of my rhododendron. It is one of the few varieties that can survive in Atlanta. I've never had more than two bloom on it before.

Wow Roelie, you have lots of bloomers already. Glad you contacted EJ.

MissAlice, glad you also contacted EJ. Closing his business and moving, no wonder
GB closed. Sure hope EJ stops by to say Hi, I sure miss him.

It's here!! So you know what I'll be doing. I about have half the
front yard done, not bad for just a few hours of work. Photos when
it's done.

I got the message from EJ that everything is gone if it is closed and he never made a list so we have to use our own brains .I will have a look if it is possible to place something in google that Gardenbuddies is gone and that we started near the National and of course will be glad to see the old POSTING members those who not come stay away. You should agree that so as it was last time it was crazy it was just like a conversation in a livingroom. You will hear of me Roelie

If it's the same person, I think Greg posts occasionally over on the Wine Making Talk forum. Last I noticed, his vineyard/winery was taking most of his attention.

I just realized I didn't finish posting my pictures from our most recent get away. We will be heading out for a couple of days next week while Maisie is on spring break.

We went back to St. Mark's National Wildlife Refuge for the afternoon after our hike and cruise at Wakulla State park near Crawfordville, Florida. My observation is that all the pictures I post appear out of focus. They are not but sure appear soft of this site.

Can you find Pinkey? He or she was blown in by Hurricane Michael. It appears to me he thinks he is a cormorant!
