gardenglory said:jobe01 thanks for the website, you have no idea how hard it is to find Mary Ethel Anderson. I ordered three df in hopes I can actually keep it going this time. nodding

Many thanks for this photo and this thread. The color of this is gorgeous. Is it "diamond - dusted"?

When originally available in the United States, I bought as many of the branded "Blooms of Bressingham" "Lady series" daylilies from my local nursery as available. They were more expensive at the time here, but they have well-proven their worth. They have proved to be wonderful daylilies that I've now had for at least two decades. I managed to miss this one. I definitely will seek it out. A quick search shows it is displayed in the collection of the Missouri Botanical Society (which mentions that this tetraploid daylily was "Introduced by Blooms of Bressingham" and also promotes AHS in their website text. http://www.missouribotanicalga...)

PS. The internationally beloved perennial geranium "Rozanne" also was a "Blooms of Bressingham" introduction.

Here is the one I am comparing to, It has a good bud count, very diamond dusted, 36ish tall, holds its color pretty well through the day-does not melt, and has upright scapes-not a sprawler. Very robust plant that increases fast. I know it is an older one as I've had it for 15 years at least, it was given to me by someone who ordered alot from Oakes and Wilds, and she did not buy newer things, just the lower priced items. She could not remember it's name. It glows across the yard, I will never get rid of it Lovey dubby

I'd appreciate any tips on names if anyone has ideas.

That is Lady Georgia, I'm sure. It's still carried by Oakes. I have that one, too. It bloomed well the first year I had it, but then it got a bad case of rust. It seems to be very susceptible; this year I cut it back and treated it twice. It has not bloomed for me this year, either. I'm sorry because I loved it. The blooms were the color of ripe cantaloupe. I'm going to have to get rid of it.

Oakes was having a free shipping sale and 30% of some, including Lady Georgia. I ordered one because it appears to be a good garden performer and that's what we value most. The pure color will combine well with various other perennials. So, next year I can join the discussion!
