Hey Bev, i am going to look up some info on the growth habits of the Sedum lineare 'variegatum'.Just not right now,You remember my gdaughter Lily lives with us (& her moma) well seems she really missed me & won't go to sleep now.She has to be able to see me at all times. It's a heart breaker for me but i'm going to lay down with her & pray she falls asleep. Maybe i will be back if not tonight before she wakes up in the morning.

Yeah, I am so happy to see you back posting Jelinda.
And what a cutie your gdaughter is.
What a treat for me to see your S. lineare 'Variegatum' showing all that new growth just waiting for spring. I had not seen the new growth before. Awesome.
Going back and looking at the photos I don't think I would try making cuttings this time of year. Maybe try just pining them to the soil with some potting soil and chicken grit. That way they will root when the weather is right.
I just adore their little variegated rosettes.
To all: I guess I will be finding out how hardy my Aptenia is. It hasn't got above freezing for several days and a couple of nightime lows have been about 16 deg. Tonight's low is predicted to be around 10 deg. It is out in my unheated greenhouse looking more than a little forlorn.
Lynn I can't believe you have snow! We've been so dry up here! I'm not complaining, just surprised! I'll have to take photos of one of the pots I left outside...it has aloe, and tender sedum and pachy(something or other) so we'll see how it is doing after this cold front!
Today's high was 29, and tonight is 18...last week its been in the 20's or low 30's (as the high) very unusual for Seattle (since we're so close to the water) but it is nice, I'm from Michigan so I tend to like freezing cold icy face burning weather! Why?? Don't know, maybe because then you can come inside and have hot cocoa and donuts for doing nothing other than going outside!
Hi Jojoe I forgot to say hello and I love your grandbaby's photo! How cute is she! Thanks for sharing all the photos! Before our weather here got really really cold one of my sedum spathifoleums dropped all its upper branching stems - all of them
I took a pot and planted them all in, it was back at the beginning of Oct. and they rooted and are looking great! I love that about some of these sedum plants - they root easily and come back! Good luck with yours!
It has been worse down your way, I've been watching the weather reports. You also got about twice what we got in the way of snow.
Next week is a warming trend.

IT WAS 78 DEGREE'S yesterday. It's crazy my plants don't know what to do. I went to the rock bed and almost had a cow when i seen my Sedum makinoi 'limelight' then here's a picture i took today i think
But i looked closely at it and looky, looky!!
I didn't think i was suppose to be seeing all this new growth but here it is not that i'm complaining. It will be cold by feb. and we usually have (give or take a week or two) 3 months of cold. What is going to happen to my sedum then???
Everyone remember the famed clump of sedum stump??
and now it's died back & Greg had the great idea of putting Angelina on it & now it won't be long the 'Angelina' will look good on the stump in the winter, just needs a little time to fill in.
I went to clean up some leaves in the yard and guess what i found
To clean up the leaves or not to clean up the leaves???

Valleylynn, I just looked at your pictures of sedum in the snow. They are GREAT. Mine hold up for the first few months of cold and then almost always look dead but as soon as the weather turns they perk back up. I can't wait to see your spring pictures. M
