I went to a Rose Seminar given by the past president of the Houston Rose Society at a local nursery and she recommended spraying with a fungus preventive called Aliette. Has anyone ever used it? And with what results?

I wouldn't trade my fungus - however nasty - for your snow.

Need to take a poll: which is worse fungus or snow?

No fungus here, either. But I also lose roses to sudden frosts. And to dryness.

Is there a spray that completely compensates for ignorance and neglect on the part of the gardener? That's what I need.

That was what I was hoping for from Aliette.

I used it a couple of summers ago when it was cold and rainy all summer. Every rose in my garden kept losing folliage so in desperation I did research and ended up ordering it from Rosemania. It was very expensive but it worked. Even my zone 6 minis made it through the winter. I don't think they would have been strong enough if I hadn't started the Aliette trreatments.

I may just have to do the same thing this year, as it seems to want to remain cold and rainy for the foreseeable future.

Thank you Bookreader. I saw it at Rosemania but I was hoping to hear from someone with actual experience with it before I splurged. It isn't available locally - apparently it has a short shelf-life so nurseries don't keep it in stock.
