I just moved to my home in October in Massachusetts, and this red plant was not visible in my mulch beds. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a beautiful addition or if it's an invasive weed. Can you help identify it?

Any photos of the tops of the leaves? These are just the side and underneath so it's hard to really tell.

The second set of photos make the stems look woody. Are they? Was there anything else growing nearby?

I'd save it in a pot for now until someone specifically identifies it. looks promising

I made an error! The pictures I posted of the "tops" were not the right ones. Please see attached. These were spreading in mostly one general location. I'm pretty sure it wasn't there intentionally in the mulch bed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
