Sorry to hear about the one with black tip. When I first started buying cuttings I killed a few and it is not fun. That's how I started growing them from seeds. After a few years L I now have several plumeria trees in my "private collection" that no one has. Lovey dubby And I get more joy seeing them bloom.

I'm curious, roughly how long might it before they are no longer a green seedling? When does it start to resemble a woody tree?

Some fast growing seedlings will have mini branches in 6 months to a year. But they don't bloom into 5 years. And if they are stunted (which I thought was a great idea to have them as smaller trees), they won't bloom.

This is what we bought today from the local seller. They are both pink and were rooted over the winter. They look amazing.

I currently have a tomato plant that potentially has soil mites and they have not spread to my plumeria yet. Should I be concerned? Also, best way to get rid of them? I don't want them all over all the plants or being all over the house. The tomato plant lives indoors.

I have very few indoor plants (a couple orchids) and some succulents. I did a quick online search and some are saying soil mites are beneficial insects. I only have 1 tomatoe and I planted marigold with it to deter pests:

It'll be a little bit before I use fertilizer but what do all of you use and what's the levels in it?
I've read that nitrogen is good for leaf, branch, and trunk growth. Phosphorus is good for fruit and flowers. And potassium is good for over all well being. But they also said find one with micronutrients as well.
Can you explain the fertilizers, what all they do, and what exactly I might need? What should I be looking for? I, overall, want basic good health for the plant, but I do want good blooms and nice branches with a good sturdy trunk.

I don't fertilize religiously and when I do, I only use osmocote, and a little bit of miracle gro. I just follow the package direction.

For my mature plants, I sometimes use Scott's super bloom or Miracle gro bloom booster, to encourage them to bloom. Not really sure if it works because some plumerias would respond to bloom feeding, others will not. I think without full sun, they won't bloom as well. The matured rooted plant will have a higher likelihood of blooming.

Is this seedling trying to grow new first leaves or is this just how its second leaves grow? All the others have pointy second leaves.

I noticed one of my cuttings, despite doing well, is starting to wrinkle and become soft at the soil line. Does this mean it's starting to rot and is there any way to save it?

Should I consider finding a way to dry the soil faster? I would like to save the cutting without cutting it.

Is there a leaf coming out? You are the only one who can tell if you have been watering your cuttings or if they are just getting dehydrated. With cuttings it is hard because you can't see what is under the soil. That's why most everyone say do not water until new set of leaves are out.

I have not been watering mine and they are in full sun but we are now getting daily afternoon rains. So keeping my fingers crossed my cuttings will not rot!

Share a picture, others might have some good advice.

It's been a while since I've watered them but lately we've been getting a lot of rain and we don't have an adequate cover that stops all the water. They don't get the rain directly on top but they get a lot of splash. I can't keep them inside every time it rains because they get soft in the leaves and lose a little color but I can't leave them outside in the rain. It's literally been raining during the much needed sunlight. Maybe I'm just being a worry wart.

My weekly update. They all look good. I have officially 17 seedlings, just waiting on 3 to break the surface which might be today. Some are even starting to get third leaves.

Lovey dubby Lovey dubby Looking good!

I have cuttings that are wrinkly too, I don't water the dirt but it's been raining. But since leaves are out and seem to be growing I am not disturbing them.

What size planters should I look for, for my seedlings? I know they should be about 4 inches wide but how deep should I be looking at? Or should I be looking for something a touch bigger? How long will they be in these new planters?

I keep my seedlings in a smaller container for as long as I can :). I have too many ang they grow too fast once in bigger containers. So I would say, when it starts becoming top heavy for its seedling pot and when the roots are established.

Then I transfer to a quart pot but I only half fill with dirt so it doesn't get too soggy for a long time. If I see roots starting to come out of the pot, then I only pull them out and add dirt on the bottom and keep the seedlings in a quarter pot until they are at least a foot tall. Then spring time of following year as they start waking up from dormancy I would put them in a gallon pot. And sometimes they stay there for a long time. *Blush*

What I noticed is they get stunted If they are not repotted right away and Seedlings won't bloom in small pots.

Just curious, do you think this seedling will make it? It clearly started off green and it is still growing but the stem where the second and third leaves come in is pale. Although that pale stem is getting longer the leaves don't seem to be growing. It gets just as much light, water, and warmth as all the others. I'm still going to let it stay in its soil and see what happens but my hopes for that one is sadly low.
