Hawkeye Bell is a Buck Hardy rose that I rescued from a mold-infested shelf of cramped roses at Home Depot, that must have been on the truck too long. I got two of them that rebounded pretty well.

I like to describe Heritage as the most feminine rose in my garden. Its petals are nearly transluscent, and nicely scented.

And this is Home and Family. I need to move it where it will get more sun - it doesn't bloom as often as it should where I have it placed now.

Love & Peace is a stellar rose. I "discovered" it while visiting the Elizabeth Rose Garden in Hartford, Connecticut, and promptly returned home and ordered it for myself.

This one is nicely swirled -- again, photographed after a gentle rain that makes for great lighting.

My Memorial Day doesn't bloom often, but when it does, it puts on quite a show.

Miami Moon is a shorty, but a goody! No other rose has quite the same color in my garden.

This is a little mini that I picked up at the grocery store of all places. It produced all summer long on my back deck.

Midas Touch is a tall HT with vibrant, deep yellow blooms that really stand out in the garden. It draws the eye like no other rose.

Mme Isaac Pereire is one of the most fragrant roses in the garden. It's a very tall Bourbon, and one of my favorites, with numerous blooms on its enormous canes.

New Dawn is a gargantuan rose whose many canes are woven in and out and in between the spokes of my deck railing. It is the climber by which so many other climbers are judged.

I usually think of New Zealand as having more pointed ovid blooms, so this one must have been pretty far along.

This is Oranges 'n Lemons, and yes, it really is that vibrant... at least, when it first blooms. The orange will fade to a light pink, which always amazes and puzzles my partner John. Every year during the first flush of blooms he ritualistially comes out, stands in front of this very tall shrub rose, and exclaims how he doesn't understand how it can change colors like that.

This is Our Lady of Guadelupe. I can't say enough good things about this rose. I keep buying more and more of this cultivar and sticking them wherever I can fit them in. They're like little happy children's faces laughing in the garden.

And this is its cousin, Prairie Sunrise (I think... sometimes I get them confused).
