What a delicate beauty is Salet! Yolanda has more of a saucy beauty.

I get Apple Blossom and Apple Jack mixed up. Does Apple Blossom smell like apples?

Not really but it does resemble apple blossoms.

This is the rose that is on Horsie's grave...yesterday there was one bloom, today there are two and tomorrow, who knows? There are a number of buds..it is hard to count them as the cat mint has gotten so high.

Melva's garden hardly seems complete without Corky joining the parade.

He is never outside with me. I call him, and he doesn't answer..he is often outside when I am, but he doesn't come looking for me..it is very annoying, so a picture will have to be an older one as I don't have any new ones taken outside.

This was taken one day when he was around and I grabbed the opportunity of a photo op.

Everything is just beautiful, Melva. I always enjoy looking at your garden.

Such beautiful leaves on that Comtesse de Rocquigny rose too!

The leaves you see with Comtesse de Rocquigny belong to another plant...the common name for it is Rock Rose....there are so many plants in the Horsie garden, the rose is having to fight...

Ah, it's different than the Rock Rose I know here, Cistus. I just checked, it must be Rock Rosemallow, AKA Texas Swampmallow, Pavonia lasiopetala

That is it. A very pretty plant but it can be invasive.

What a sweet little bloom!

I had wanted Comtesse de Rocquigny for a long time. Every time it became available
at VintIage I would order it, to be told they were all gone. I finally got it from another nursery. It was still in a pot when Horsie died so it was planted on his grave, at his head. So it is bitter sweet to see it (and all the other plants) the area has filled in nicely I am just incapable of deciding what plants to remove.

Corky is a good kitty even though he isn't a garden cat, like the Horsie was.

Too bad I didn't get to know Horsie. If Jasper ever turns up missing at a time when I'm in CA, I know NOTHING about it!! Love the cats.

Melva, please add some photos to our database, especially the "whole-bush photos."

This is a mystery....a own root Swamp Rose, has Dr Huey growing with it. I have no idea how that happened.
