How is it around slugs? I am tossing my 'Montana', it is full of holes and I have mostly slug resistant Hosta.

Someone else asked for a division a while back. This gets 27 inches high & 60" wide. I'll let you know, I wanted a daylily from a lady and she canceled my trade because I only had one plant she wanted, at the time I told her Montana was unavailable. I will try to divide it and send you a piece also because this is a great Hosta for the south, I read this on Hosta's Direct:

H. longipes, H. kikutii and H. montana cultivars and all of their variants and hybrids would be good choices to survive extremely dry and hot conditions.

Hey, I do not read that very often about a Hosta!!

I wonder if it is just as susceptible to pill bugs. We don't have slugs and not many snails. But pill bugs rule my yard and I haven't had a lot of success with DE or anything else to fight them.

I have never seen a pill bug in the yard, maybe something eats them. I need something to eat the slugs.

Susan I am in zone 8a and I don't think I can grow as many as you. I want to see a picture of you Yard. Unfortunately I live in the inner-city and keeping trees are a problem I lived in a townhouse before I moved into this duplex. I made the decision because I was having hip surgery and the stairs was going to be a problem. Additionally they built a new complex next door and they cut down my only big tree!
When I had gone o look at the duplex, it was huge with a big backyard full of trees in the surrounding area. First the cable people started trimming trees. Then the property manager had sewer problem and she cut off one side of a huge tree. Then then neighbors cut their tree. I was in tears. So now I am trying to grow poplar trees. I should have stayed where I was.
I put some bad mulch down and it ruined the soil and I lost over 200 hosta.its been struggle ever since I've been here
