I was happy to see these Dancing Flamingo seedling showing UF characteristics. For those of you who breed for UFs, what percentage of the time should a daylily show UF characteristics to register it as such?

MORE FIRST TIME BLOOMS:

Hardly time to keep up with all the new seedling blooms since so much going on in the garden. Nice blooms from so many.
I will share some of my work on small and mini flowers.

Sorry for not listing the parents but most of my hybridizing involves my seedlings. These babies are hardy, tested to 16 below zero and the longest stretch below freezing here. They are in raised beds with no mulch.
I have so many to sort thru.

Two of my seedlings this morning, need I say they show no signs of sculpted relief.

Larry, they may not show any relief but the big red spots and color of that first one are very interesting and unique. Bet there are a few hybridizers that would love to see that in their sdlg bed!

Yes, spots are nice, sculpted relief is elusive. That makes it all the more interesting.

The first two 1st year scapes are still evolving flowers. It will be interesting to see how they end up.

The third Paper Butterfly x MNE seedling opened today, and I love the richness of the yellow with the burgundy eye. Not many buds on this one, but it did suffer aphid damage early on, so who knows what it could have done.

Kidfishing - I love your blue-eyed babies!

Kid, all your seedlings are super nice, but I very much like #11, it reminds me of our small flowered Stamile's Child Of Atlantis, which I wish would do better for us.
