Very nice. I can live vicariously through you. The ground is covered with snow, it's still too cold here to do any gardening except seed starting and dreaming of spring.

I'm glad to hear you have some wintersown sprouts, Trish. It's a pretty easy method compared to inside, isn't it?

I'm glad you're liking the podcasts! We're having a lot of fun recording them and actually, I enjoy the process of doing the post-processing of the audio, and inserting music and things like that. It's an enjoyable relaxing job. This episode's audio quality had a small problem because of a technical issue on my computer while recording, but hopefully it was minor enough that nobody noticed it.

I'll try to get a photo of the trough soon.

Looking forward to the trough photo. I kept wondering how you'd use it, now it's a real treasure.

Minor glitches don't seem to matter, it was also fun to hear Little Raffle Man helping you.

The podcasts are great. I think we all enjoy them. Thumbs up

I've actually been looking at the underside of that trough for 4 years now. I never realized it was in good condition until I turned it over the other day. Imagine my delight.

What was originally a "problem" for me is now a solution!! Love it!

My comments:

Yippie for the found worms, worm castings and the huge new worm bin!

Cinco De Mayo is a great all around rose, real fast on the rebloom, probably why you were so successful. Thumbs up

Great reminders for tool care, seed sowing, cleaning ornamental grasses, pruning, container clean-up and lasagna gardening.

Beef tallow in your store? Green Grin!

Cute chatter and sneezes Little Man! Hilarious!

Thanks Sue. Smiling

I listened to the podcast tonight and realized I never did edit out the part where Trish and I were discussing how we messed up the order of the recording!! *Blush* I fixed it and reuploaded it. Sorry for everyone who had to listen to that. We keep learning and getting better from our mistakes!

Dave it is all good, little glitches and all. I had so much fun listening while I cleaned up my desk area. You are what ahead of us in the PNW on growing season, but was such a boost to hear what is already growing for you in Texas.

Can't wait to see the trough.

Really looking forward to 'Rose Week'. Hurray! I have to get busy earning more acorns for the raffle that will happen next week.

What a treat to hear 'Little Raffle Man' in the background.

I look forward to each podcast, thank you for doing them.

I posted pictures last time we made tallow. I'm always proud of my tallow and am very careful when I make it. The purity is important to me, so that it is stable and won't go bad.

Lynn, I'm really glad you enjoy it. I also like to listen to podcasts while cleaning my desk and office! Smiling

I took pics!

Here's the bin, already loaded up with lots of good worm food:

Thumb of 2013-02-11/dave/236218

And here it is with the "lid" on it. I had some left over metal sheeting from when we built the barn, and it fit perfectly as a lid. So this keeps it nice and dark and helps maintain the moisture. It's not an airtight seal which is perfect since worms need some air.

Thumb of 2013-02-11/dave/bc9ec9

It looks smaller in the photos, but it's 12 feet long, believe it or not.
